Outfield woes (Hart - injured hand; Cat - family funeral)

Corey's slide back into first (and Todd Helton's foot) Tuesday night led to injured (and possibly fractured) fingers on his right hand. He's not likely to play again in 2009.

Frank the Cat is with his family because his father-in-law died.

Could lead to more Patterson sightings over the next few days...blessedly, the last few days.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

"If his season is over, Hart will finish with a .260 batting average, 12 home runs and 48 RBIs. It's a major drop in production from each of the previous two seasons, when Hart hit at least 20 homers and drove in at least 80 runs."

How much would you like to look at your stats for RF and see .260/33/76?

That's Nelson Cruz-

If we had thrown in Hart into the El Caballo deal instead-

Or better yet, if we hadn't done the deal at all, and we still had Cruz and got the 2 compensation picks-

Since May 31 Cruz is hitting .235/.317/.477. I doubt Brewer fans would be happier with him over Hart. This possibly, due to Hart's injury, but in 2007 and 2008, Hart was the more valuable player.

There are only 4 games remaining. Play Gerut everyday in RF. Send Corey home. Now.
