1964 Yankees Team Ball help...

billyhallfan

Hey guys, I need some help on this...I'm not sure if this is in the right forum or not...

An older gentleman from my church knew that I collected autographs, and asked me what a New York Yankees 64 Team Ball would be worth, and my jaw dropped...lol...

Anyway, he claims to have gotten this signed at County Stadium in Milwaukee...he said that he played catch with it as a kid, so it is in rough shape...Basically he wants me to sell it to make some money for the church...I'm 19 and am not familiar with these autographs at all, so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated...I'm also needing some help on the best way to sell it, because it would be a fortune to get it all psa'd...any opinions you can give are greatly appreciated...

here is who he thinks is all on it:
Al Downing
Steve Hamilton
Pete Mikkelsen
Rollie Sheldon
Mel Stottlemyre
Ralph Terry
Stan Williams
Johnny Blanchard
Elston Howard
Pedro Gonzalez
Mike Hegan
Tony Kubek
Phil Linz
Hector Lopez
Roger Maris

and I'm not sure who is on the sweet spot, like i said, it isn't the best condition, but any help is appreciated...

Unless the teams played an exhibition game sometime, the Yankees would not have played at County Stadium in 1964. Hegan was a late season call up, so that may help put a date on it.

It looks like the manager, Yogi Berra, is one of the signatures on the ss. Obviously that helps with value.

Downing, Stottlemyre, Sheldon, Hegan, and Terry all match up with signatures I have. The Stan Williams is unmistakable--he's got an awesome autograph.

Problems obviously include the condition of the ball, the lightness of the signatures, and the fact that Mickey and Whitey are missing. I don't know if Jim Stinson of Stinson Sports would be interested in something like this or not. A lot of times he offers some affordable alternatives for collectors on a budget. I wouldn't imagine it would garner more than $125-150, though, due to the issues.

EDIT: You know what? It could be Mickey below the Berra signature. I'm not an expert on his signature, but he was known to use a clubbie for team balls frequently.
