I know I shouldn't say this, but does anyone else think that if the Brewers play really bad and get swept by St. Louis, that may make Melvin and Attanasio decide that Macha is not who this club needs as manager next season?
You quoted TH in today's IGT, and I think it's apropos here:

"Parra finishes the year with 6.36 ERA. Bush is done at 6.38. Suppan is at 5.30. Looper is at 5.10. Nice starting rotation the Brewers have."

Macha won't get fired this year, nor should he, in my opinion.

Yeah, you're probably right. I could just see the ownership deciding they need to shake things up to keep the fan base in good spirits, but I'm thinking more and more they will probably retain Macha...though he'll be on a very short leash next season.
