We'll see how it pans out. I love the Office, but have started to get into 30 Rock. It seems like that show is on the increase as the Office is on the decline. But, those are the best two shows on regular television right now.
Pulling this back up just to note that this week's episode of 30 Rock was one of the funniest half hours of television I've seen in a long time. Tina Fey is brilliant.

I saw this and still maintain the Dwight vs Jim conflict was the best part of the show. I think it really would have been best to see this show go off the air a year or two ago. Of course I was a big fan of the Brithsh Office and liked the series Extras as well so I like to see a series go off the air a little quickly rather than stick around for a slow painful death with a few bright spots amongst the chaff.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I recently caught the season 3 finale on TBS, as it was the only episode I had never saw. I think it would have been a perfect ending for the series. Jim leaving his corporate interview to ask out Pam, Ryan taking over for Jan, and Jan and Michael moving into together would have been left to the viewer's imagination.

For purely selfish reasons, I'm glad the show is still on the air. There still has been some great episodes even if we have to sift through 4 or 5 duds a year.

New episode tonight (I guess you could call it that). Clip show. Kind of disappointing that this was the first episode after a lengthy break.

Parks & Rec continues to kill it. The transformation from season 1 to 2 has been amazing. Anyone else recognize Poehler's new boyfriend is Timothy "is that a gram?" Bryce from American Psycho?

30 Rock hasn't been as good this year imo. The episode last week with James Franco was top class, but in general, I think it's become too stale.

Archer on FX (took over the Sunny timeslot) is the funniest show I've seen since, well, probably IASIP. And I'm someone who usually HATES animated series. Start watching it if you haven't.

Schlitz001[/b]]Does clip show = officially out of ideas?
Actually, I was thinking clip show might = want to give actors extended time off before putting together a bunch of new episodes. Then, I remembered that the Olympics start on NBC soon and there will be another 2 weeks without new episodes.

I was really disappointed by the clip show. Not just because it was "a clip show." Michael's character is so unbelievable anymore - he's just really hard to like.

Archer is fantastic. I saw the pilot episode a few months ago on FX and am really glad I remembered to watch it last week.

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

With the Leno debacle going off the air in February, NBC ordered an extra two episodes of the Office this season... so maybe the clip show helps them fill out one of those extra episodes... I don't know.

I think Community is pretty hit or miss, but Parks and Rec has been the funniest show on the Thursdays by far this year. I found it really boring the first season but I'm glad I gave it another shot - it's great now.

I don't think the Office has faded, I still love it... but Parks and Rec has been better lately.

As for 30 Rock... I don't "get" that show. Don't find it funny at all.

The Office hasn't gone the way of the Simpsons already, has it--a show that gets awesome ratings yet nobody really likes it anymore? count me in with the disappointment over the clip show. plus clips are kinda pointless when the series hasn't been on the air that long, and so the "remember when's" are from only a season ago.

I'll predict the total quality-related death of this show to be when they finally give Creed a dedicated episode. and you just know they're gonna. eventually.

it's been interesting the way Michael Scott and Amy Pohler's characters have been exact opposites in terms of their development. i couldn't stand Poehler's character in Season 1. they started her off as being an incompetent idiot for not other reason than bad jokes, but now they've turned her into the good and dedicated employee who just gets crap dumped on her. Michael i used to root for as the guy who just couldn't ever figure out how to fit in. but now that we've learned there's a method to his madness, that just makes him mostly a jerk.

At first I thought the clip show was a very odd choice to air at this point, but I guess it works well symbolically with the transition from the decline of Dunder/Mifflin into whatever's next. But while it's nice to take a look back, isn't that a bit redundant in the DVD age? I know I've seen some of those clips a good 10 times.

Agreed. I've been beating the drum pretty hard for the creative re-birth of Parks & Rec and yesterday's episode was yet another winner. The show is just so much fun. Yesterday I saw a preview for the "new" episode of the Office was coming up and almost winced at having to watch it (not even knowing it was a clip show). They're just being outclassed every week by its sister show that airs in the preceding timeslot. And yeah, a lot of it has to do with how they treat the main character. As Michael Scott continues to devolve into a live-action Homer Simpson, they continue to mold Leslie Knope into everything he's not. But to be fair, I really enjoyed the last Christmas episode, so there's still hope.

I'm pretty ambivalent on Community. I like it, but I've missed their last 2 episodes and hardly feel complied to immediately catch up on Hulu. Gotta wait for a slow day at work I guess.

For the past few years, I've gotten into this habit of only watching 30 Rock on DVD. Not sure why. When you watch them all together, you really notice a creative lag around the middle of season 3 (or at least I did). On the whole, season 2 was definitely their apex so far. I have caught a few episodes this year, but never noticed anything that would change my opinion of that.

I knew something was up with the new Office when over Micheal's shoulder the ground outside was green grass and trees in full bloom. They're usually pretty good with keeping up the the Scranton weather. They apparently just did not care with this one. Kudos on wasting 22 minutes of my life.

"Sing" by Travis is a good song, though.
