Dream Moods

Web Jim Edmonds

My wife has a reoccurring dream that her parents get killed and then "body snatched" by aliens. They then chase her and her brother through the woods, but she wakes up before being captured. I often have a dream and then realize Im dreaming so then I take over and start flying or using telekinesis to do all kinds of Japanese anime type stuff. But more seriously, one theme seems to come up very often in my dreams. I'm back living where I lived when I was about 11 years old. Someone or some "thing" is trying to get in the house (often through the front door) and I trying to stop it. Sometimes it's a scary feeling, others times its not. Its just me trying to keep the "intruder(s) from getting in the house. I have tried to fight them/it/she/he off with telekinesis, with guns, sticks, words and sometimes just prayer. I found these sites:

Anyone else ever seriously thought about dream analysis?

I kept a dream diary for a year in 2005. Some wacky, weird dreams were remembered quite vividly, even to this day. Others disappeared from memory as soon as I wrote them down.

It's a good read every now and then. I don't know what it has done for me but I recommend writing a diary about the dreams. Do it as soon as possible after you wake up--even in the middle of the night, if possible.

My buddy just had a dream that his wife, who is always traveling for work in real life and the dream, was always traveling to wherever the Giants were playing. He then found out by snooping around her email that she was having an affair with Edgar Renteria. He woke up startled at that point and turned over to her and confronted her (she happened to be in town that week). Luckily she thought it was funny, but I can't imagine waking up your wife to ask her if she is sleeping with Edgar Renteria. Talk about random.

When I was a kid, and one of my favorite sports teams would lose a game. I almost always would dream that night, that said team had won the game. Needless to say, I woke up confused many times.

I have dreams that I die in a plane crash, ever since I was young. In 3 weeks I fly to Vegas... I must be an idiot, lol...

I haven't thought seriously about dream analysis, but since I had a baseball related dream overnight, I'll share it in this thread.

It was the top of the 9th and Trevor Hoffman was trying to preserve a 2-1 lead vs. the Cubs. Mark DeRosa was up and despite my fervent hopes to the contrary, he took Trevor deep with runners on. 5-2 Cubs.

I woke up kind of mad, until I realized that DeRosa isn't a Cub anymore...then I remembered he is with STL and could theoretically be facing Trevor tonight. Great. At least, I don't have a history of dream clairvoyance.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

That's a really good idea. I think I'll give it a shot. I have 4 or 5 recurring dreams and I'd like to figure out how often I have them and figure out if there's some kind of pattern to the whole thing.
