Hey Everybody,

 

Nike is doing some sort of promotion where they are giving grants to organizations that use sports to help out young people

 

I spent last year in New Orleans doing stuff for Americorps, and the community center that I worked/lived at is trying to get a grant through Nike to improve their basketball court. The court currently is used twice weekly for a basketball/mentoring program run by a friend of mine (and also used throughout the rest of the week for after-school programs and the like). However, the court is much smaller than regulation size, and is cracking and in need of resurfacing. They are hoping to re-do the court and extend it to make it better for the kids to use.

 

To get the grant, they need lots of votes, because the top few vote-getters in a city get a grant. If anyone is interested in helping out, the voting goes until September 15.
