That would be one of the more interesting "starting rotations" within the menu for some time now -- go get 'em, Mike Jones, who was basically told he was released this spring unless he wanted to accept a spot with Brevard County and give it one last go-round there.

Link Report Bonus (just for fun):

This Curt Schilling interview with WEEI in Boston is interesting in its totality on a number of subjects, but around the 18:00 minute mark (you can control the start point on the dial), Schilling discusses the young ladies in minor league towns, particularly at the lower levels, and how they "could work for Baseball Prospectus" based on their knowledge of who the top prospects are and such -- now you kids have fun, but be careful out there....

Dunedin Site:

The scheduled series and season finale between the Dunedin Blue Jays and the Brevard County Manatees was rained out on Wednesday night.

A storm brought copious amounts of lightning and rain to the area just before the original 7 p.m. game time that pushed the start back to 7:15 p.m., but shortly before the delayed start, heavier rains began to fall and washed

out the contest.

Due to it being the last meeting of the year between the two teams, the game will only be made up if there are playoff implications pending the game's outcome.

With 11 games now wiped off the calendar, the Manatees have lost 8% of their schedule -- that's a fairly significant amount of development time. It's two starts each for Mark Rogers and Amaury Rivas, 11 more games for Logan Schafer, etc.

Final: DSL Pirates 2, DSL Brewers / Orioles 1, ten innings

Walkoff loss on a two-out single...

DSL Brewers / Orioles Box Score

The 17-year-old lefty, 6'7" 170 pound Eliezer Montano (yes, it's mandatory we give his age and vitals every time he pitches) with an OK five-inning start (one run, unearned, despite nine baserunners allowed); DH Jhonatan Javier reached twice, but Brewer batters overall were 2-for-15 with a walk and six K's...

DSL Brewers / Orioles Game Log

Workhorse (and effective) closer RHP Edwin Linares hasn't appeared since August 8th, RHP Rolando Pascual since August 11th, LHP Jose Ramos since August 1st, RHP Francisco Rivera all the way back to June 8th, OF Ronny Puello June 24th...

Wow, that's an unexpected surprise.

And that's the second time in two nights that I looked at the Arizona box score and got a little exciting seeing Davis, K. in the box score. Nothing against Khris of course...

I just saw a commercial for the T-Rats game tomorrow night on TW Sports (channel 32 for SE WI customers). It seems as though the Brewers are getting a few of their pitchers some rest, with Scarpetta going more than a week without work before pitching in last night's game. Bush and Suppan having a couple of rehab starts has seemed to contribute to this. The best I can tell is that Seidel and Nieves will go. I'd really like to see Seidel work, as it seems as though Nieves has pitched in every TW Sports game.

While I know Mass will keep us in tune, I bring this up for interested folks like me that may need to set their DVR before heading to work in the morning.

With all the promotions out of Helena this season, that offense has gone from potent to anemic in less than 3 weeks.

I should have directed folks to Brett's call in Huntsville earlier -- it's 9:55 Central if you still can, it's shaping up to be an exciting 9th inning as the Stars try to come back on Jack Z.'s West Tenn squad.

UPDATE: Now 6-6 as Stars have scored twice, Jonathan Lucroy up with one out and the winning run in scoring position, Taylor Green, already with three hits tonight, is on deck...

Capuano's appearance on his 31st birthday, no less! A 1-2-3 inning in the 2nd for Chris, his night now over...

Hard to trust the early Maryvale box score -- they list new draft signee Del Howell as replacing Capuano but not facing a batter -- wondering if we'll see a corrected box in the AM with the 2nd inning as Howell's...
