Proposal: Miller or Rivera to White Sox?

In this article they mention the White Sox needing an Outfielder with power and say that Joe Crede, center fielder Brian Anderson and veteran pitchers Mark Buehrle and Freddy Garcia, who are on the final years of contracts, could be available for trade.

I could see Jenkins and Miller for Buerrle or Garcia... granted we'd only get the pitcher for one year though so maybe that might not be our ideal as far as what we can get for Jenkins...

I think Jenkins and Miller for Buehrle would be great. If we keep Rivera as backup, we might not even be taking a hit in the catching department -- at least on offense.

(I must admit that I'm biased because of Buehrle's stellar performance on my 2005 fantasy squad.)

I don't think the Sox are all that interested in Jenkins. They like the kid Sweeney a lot.

They could very well have interest in Miller, but Miller alone is not goint to net Brian Anderson.

If I'm the Brewers, I'd be interested in one of their lefty relievers. I would assume Thornton isn't available nor is is Boone Logan, but Paulino Reynoso is a possibilty.

Reynoso, yet another Dominican Republic native, had a rather unimpressive ERA for Charlotte, but allowed just .215 BAA with a strikeout an inning and just 3 HR in 59 innings.

He had trouble with wildness, but he'd be a guy to possibly give Brewers another lefty pen option. Anyway the Sox thought they needed to protect him so he's on their 40 man.

Righty Sean Tracey is another possibility.

The Sox are playing this very well, if they wait until Zito, Schmidt, etc sign somewhere, the teams who missed out will most likely come calling with improved offers. It's just like Manny suddenly being affordable and Jenkins looking downright inexpensive when the bats dried up.

I think the Sox will wind up with a very nice deal if they sit for just a few more days, which Williams seems to be doing. Somebody's likely to give up a better prospect or one extra player once they've run out of free agent options.

The White Sox have been trying to upgrade behind A.J. Pierzynski, with multiple reports suggesting they were trying for Brewers backup Damian Miller

Could this be the deal Melvin has said was contigent on another deal, which recently happened?

Multiple reports? I'd like to see 'em. As I mentioned in another thread, I think Rotoworld is getting alot of their Brewers information straight from Brewerfan.net

Miller to the White Sox was merely speculation from a Brewers fans, myself... I doubt there are any substantiated reports
