Trying to change homepage on Firefox for Mac

I'm sure it is real easy and I'm just a dummy, but how do I change my homepage for Firefox on my Mac? I couldn't find it in "Tools" or "Bookmarks", don't see an option to change it. I know I could do it on my old PC. Please help fellow Mac users!

well if it is anything like firefox for PC then go to the tools drop down menu and select options. Under the main menu tab the first option should be the home page. From there you can set anypage as your home page.

I wish it was that easy. There is no "options" under "tools" drop down menu.

Under the Firefox tab at the top (next to the apple icon) there is a preferences selection in the drop-down menu. Select the main tab from the upper left-hand corner and you will have the chance to change your homepage.

colbyjack, you are the man. Thank you. I didn't even know that you could click that "firefox". I have had my Mac Book since December and never knew how to change it. Thanks again.

Most to all of the preferences for every Mac-based program is under a similar tab.

The first menu (to the left of "File") is called the Application Menu. It has the application's name. OS X's interface guidelines always put a program's preferences in that menu.

 

Also, they're always called "Preferences" rather than one program having "Preferences," another having "Options," and another having "Settings." [it might be more accurate to say "most to all" as colby does; there could be a rogue program out there that screws this up.]

 

When Firefox was first being developed, I remember the arguments on MozillaZine among Windows and Linux users about where the options/preferences belonged and what to call them. There was no argument among Mac users because the name and place was predetermined. By the way, if you're using Firefox in Linux, look for "Preferences" in the Edit menu. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

 

Other handy items in the Application Menu will hide the current application or hide other applications. It's one way to maintain control over a cluttered desktop.
