Molitor in Appleton Last Night

Recommended Posts

Funny, spoke with my Dad last night, & he'd just gotten home from the game. He didn't say anything about Molly, who obv. is one of his all-time favorites. I'll give him a pass for sounding pretty tired. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Thanks for linking that, Mass Haas. I thought this quote (when asked about his role as MIN's roving hitting instructor) was interesting when related to big-league hitting & pitching coaches:

"When you get young kids, from 18- 19-year old kids to the mid-20s and the upper levels of the minor leagues, these guys are really hungry to find a way to make it. They listen a little bit more...big league guys are kind of set in their ways and you don't feel you quite have the influence."

Basically confirms what people always seem to discuss when the 'Fire Hitting/Pitching Coach!' threads pop up. I also got a chuckle from this line from Molly (again talking about being a roving hitting instructor):

"It's challenging as the years go by to stay relevant and find a way to get these guys to trust you that you can help their games develop."

I get his point, but just putting it in perspective -- a 18 or 19 y-o kid having Paul Molitor help him with his swing, I just can't imagine anyone tuning that out http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
