The incident...motivation? Latest: no suspensions; undisclosed fines for Mota and Fielder (reply #71ish)

DHonks

Boy, I hope some of the posters here aren't in h.r. Using a bunch of high-profile instances to draw a sketch of the mental health of someone who surely will be mentioned as among the greatest Brewers ever?

The g.m. and the clubhouse see this man day-in and day-out and all have said-repeatedly-that he is the rock upon which the Brewers will be built. If he was one half the goony-eyed hysteric portrayed here, people, either from the front office or the team, would have thrown him under the bus.

But that has not happened.

In fact, the incidents that are arrayed within the bill of particulars against Prince (on a Brewers fan Website no less) happen with much more frequency than any of us know. Nine times out of ten, they are handled internally. He is the victim of some bad luck in that there was footage. But ask any minor- or major-leaguer, this STUFF HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. Yes, even to the great Pujols. It is NOT an indication of anger-management issues. In fact, given all he's been through, including continued provocations about his father, of whom he has made clear he does not wish to speak, I'd say this 25-year-old is well ahead of the curve.

The moment the Suppan contract expires, I hope they pull a fleet of Brinks trucks up to Prince's house and dump off extension money.

When Torre and LaRussa order a hit, they always want to injure the player.

While I think both of these managers are complete tools, I sincerely doubt that. Look at where Prince was hit. Now, getting beaned in the front-side shoulder, like the Pirates' Capps did to Prince, is another story entirely.

The fact that Torre just skated on this one makes my blood boil. He is a bum.

I wouldn't be opposed to feeding Suppan to Fielder to settle his uncontrollable rage and aggression. Win win... Prince would be full, and the Brewers could stop paying Suppan.

Nah, then they would just have to pay Suppan's widow.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

While I would like $12.5M to be able to get it done, it will probably be more like Suppan plus at least half of Hall's contract. If there are buyouts of the team option of Suppan and Hall, it is probably equal to the total of the contracts of both. That being said, paying Fielder what they pay in total to Suppan and Hall, would be a heckuva bargain.

I'm confident Melvin and Attanasio will make a strong push to re-sign Fielder...it may not work out in the end, since Satan is his agent; but they will try to re-sign the man so he and Braun can be the cornerstones of the Brewers for many more years, ala Molly and Robin.

If the attempt at re-signing C.C. was a "special case", I see no reason why Prince shouldn't be considered one as well.

I understand that offer was made, but Prince refused it, he doesn't eat meat.

On the Parra incident, I happened to run across a wikipedia entry claiming that Parra told Fielder to "get off his fat ass and play defense." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Maybe we can thank Parra for Fielder's improvement in that area.
