Jim Leyritz?!

From Rotoworld.... unbelievable

Quote:
42-year-old Jim Leyritz, who last played in the majors in 2000, is considering a comeback in 2007.

This is what happens when guys like Gary Matthews Jr. and Gil Meche get $50 million contracts; all the old guys want another shot. Leyritz said he has been contacted by teams, and he thinks he could be of use as a reserve catcher and first baseman. "They asked me and I am going to start working out," he said.

a 7 year layoff from baseball.

Just to pile on Hank has to be worth atleast have of Bonds at this point, he's knees might even be better. And it's probably agood thing we got ourselves anotehr catcher less Ueck started to think he could give it one last go, our offense just couldn't take that much of a hit http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Well, if Julio Franco can come back...

...wait, he never left.

Some playoff contender would love to have Layritz come off the bench as a pinch hitter. The guy was atrosiously mediocre for 99% of his career, but for some reason, in big games, he turned into Reggie Jackson.

I can't want to here the PA announcer at Yankee Stadium next year say:

"Now pinch hitting for Alex Rodriguez....

Jimmmmmmmmm LEY-ritzzzzzz
