Would it kill Prince to stretch a little when receiving a throw on close play? The call on that bunt by Furcal coulda gone the other way had he not been standing straight up at the bag, catching the ball close to his body with his elbow bent. Terrible.

Bill Hall looked awful in the outfield, per usual.

Does anyone else think Manny should have been out of this game after the 7th (pinch-hitter) or definitely after the 8th? Sure he was pitching well but he got a lot of help from defense tonight. It was bound to catch up with him. I have questioned Macha's bullpen (and pitching in general) management all year.
Manny pitched a fantastic game. There was no reason to pull him until he allowed a base runner or two in the 9th. There weren't many balls hit hard off him, either - I'm not sure where all that defensive help was of which you speak.

No nearly every MLB manager would have left their pitcher out there with less than 100 pitches entering the 9th inning but once they start giving up a hit or two they would be pulled.

Well that gave a new name to Mannywood. I kept thinking if Manny could just get through the 6th, 7th, 8th...and he kept doing it. I sure could have done without that ninth. The Dodgers fans around us were looking for a reason to cheer and it sure got loud when their Manny came up. Very un-Kershaw like outing. He's the one guy on their staff I'm a big believer in as Billingsley regresses to his mean. He couldn't get that curve over early and fell apart from there.

Plenty of Brewers fans at the game...locals and from Milwaukee. My daughter is now convinced that Ryan Braun likes it when she comes to the game since he hit another bomb with her there. This gave her a chance to show her Braun shirt to everyone around us...very fun. She was screaming her head off at the end of the game for Trevor too.

Great night at the ballpark...I'll be back tomorrow. Go Brewers.

Kudos to Casey McGhee. That guy really has a nice swing. His bat stays in the hitting zone for such a long period of time. His swing reminds me of Carlos Lee's in that regard. Some guys have a chopping style in the strike zone and don't give themselves much chance to consistent contact. Rickie Weeks had that problem before this season so often, I thought.

Of course, Ryan Braun is a sheer treat to watch at the plate.

Manny Parra ... great job ... I respect your turnabout very much!

Ramirez (a classless cheater) getting the last out against the classy Trevor Hoffman ... good and satisfying ending tonight!

The last thing I noticed before I confidently (more or less) turned off the radio last night was that Manny (ours) had just reached his 80th pitch in the 7th. Seriously, how nice is that?

The first thing I noticed upon waking up was Brian Posick on WIBA radio giving the sports teaser : "The Brewers were clinging to a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the ninth, with Trevor Hoffman facing Manny Ramirez with the bases loaded. Find out what happens next." I'm a Posick fan, but I wasn't right then.

Well, wrong-way sweep averted - I'll take it!

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Was it a Green Man, as popularized by Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Great episode.

Green Man

Not sure what they showed on TV, but there was a guy dressed exactly like that at the game. He was way out in the Pavillion (their bleachers) and he put on that costume and started dancing. They showed him on the scoreboard labeled as "The Creature". When the inning was over, security went up to him and escorted him out as he was changing back to street clothes to a loud chorus of boos. They said on the radio after the game security told him to remove the mask which is against the rules. He may not have been kicked out of the game since he had a ticket to the reserved level as well and may have just gone back to his better seat. It was also not the same guy who wore the same costume at the Buick Open. It was pretty funny.

Aha, Scully referenced this late in the game when you could hear the crowd roar and start booing, obviously not in regards to the game--"And there's something going on in the bleachers that we can't make out...someone is being taken away and heading home for their misdeeds. Not worth showing, folks."

The thing we were trying to figure out was if he was doing something so terribly wrong, why did they show him on the big TV screen twice and with the label underneath of "The Creature". It was almost if they had it planned. That's why I don't think he got tossed.

BTW Series, you are right on Vin. The guy is 81 and still as pleasant to listen to as anyone in the game. He's old school, but not hokey at all. Calls it as he sees it and is always gracious to the opposing team. I like BA/Rock quite a bit, but we're talking different leagues here. If you have the MLB package, definitely take in a game with Vin. They just announced he's coming back for one more season next year. Expect it to be an entire year honoring him. Well deserved.
