SF interested in Jenkins

Diskono

Haven't seen anything about this posted yet, but apparently the Giants have asked about Jenkins. Do they even have anyone worth trading for? Or could we get a bag of balls?

Even if Bonds returns to the club, Sabean said he would look to acquire another run-producer if he doesn't use the rest of his funds on pitching. The Giants have spoken to the Milwaukee Brewers about outfielder Geoff Jenkins, sources said.

The Giants also have had conversations with Philadelphia about Pat Burrell and Milwaukee about Geoff Jenkins, but nothing is imminent.

Brad Hennessey in my eyes would be a an ok trade. Allows us to maybe make another move with one of our other pitchers! Hennessey will be serviceable!

I don't think I agree with that. His ERA was nice at 4.26, but his FIP was an awful 5.50. His K/BB ratio was also awful at 1.00.

I'd rather have Kevin Correia. He didn't start any games last year, but he had started 11 the year before. This year out of the pen he posted a 3.49 ERA with a 3.57 FIP and a 2.59 K/BB ratio.

Marcus Sanders MI - Ricky Henderson as a middle infielder.

Like if Rickey was playing middle IF in MLB now, at like 50? Because the dude hit .213/.302/.265 in the Cal league last year. He had a nice year in 2005, but when he moved up he was awful.

SF always seemed like the most logical place for Jenkins to wind up. From SF's perspective, they could be thinking that Jenkins needs a change of scenery. What better place to get that change than the area of California that Jenkins is from.

Unfortunately, getting quality pitching help from SF could be tough... not much depth there.

Not necessarily. If a corresponding trade is made elsewhere for someone else's higher salary, that same money is spent. I'm not sayin' it's a probability, but indeed a realistic possibility. I know that sounds crazy, because it hasn't happened since 1982?

Of all the teams in either league, I'd say the Giants have the least amount of pitching to deal.

No kidding. We're too late to fleece Sabean of all his pitching. He was giving it away a few years ago.

"His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down $2000 to live like him for a week. Sleep, do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors and have sex without dating... THAT'S a fantasy camp."
