Brad Penny available?


I think we were overvaluing Penny a little bit. The guy's only got a career ERA+ of 104 and 1.32 WHIP, and had 2 good seasons (2004-I think he got injured that year?, and 2001). Other than that, he has been very average. Unless you believe that this one good year every three years thing is a trend, I wouldn't bother with him.

I never thought this proposal had much of a chance. With the Dodgers signing Gonzales it has zilch.

 

The guy on the Dodgers that makes sense to go after is Brett Tomko. He's could provide long relief and starter depth that everyone is so concerned about without necessarily dislodging Villanueva at a somewhat reasonable price.

 

Maybe a Matt Wise for Tomko?
