Kind of funny...written by a listener of Brewers Extra Innings, apparently.

"The 2009 Brewers passed away on Tuesday, July 28, at Miller Park. The season was 100 games old. They are survived by National League Central counterparts Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals and Houston Astros.[/i]

In lieu of flowers, team fans have requested that you throw your Brewers memorabilia in the garbage.[/i]

The 2009 Brewers were born with high expectations after the 2008 edition reached the postseason for the first time in 473 years, thanks to the New York Mets dropping 39 of their final 40 games down the stretch in a tight Wild Card race. High hopes abounded for 2009, and after a slow start, the Brewers played an extended stretch of hot baseball to take over first place."[/i]
