Maybe I'm Crazy... but how about this

Trade Rickie Weeks for Jake Peavy

Trade JJ Hardy and Prince Fielder for Scott Kazmir

Rotation

1. Sheets

2. Peavy

3. Kazmir

4. Capuano

5. Bush

Lineup

1. Tony Gwynn Jr. - CF

2. Tony Graffanino - 2B

3. Corey Hart - RF

4. Bill Hall - SS

5. Geoff Jenkins - LF

6. Ryan Braun - 1B

7. Corey Koskie - 3B

8. Johnny Estrada - C

9. Pitcher

I don't know, maybe I'm nuts, but this seems like a team that would really compete. We would also have depth in our pitching staff is Sheets went down.

I read a couple weeks ago that Kevin Towers personally told Peavy he'll be in San Diego as long as he runs the show. I know it's a business and promises are made all the time, but I think there's a better chance of getting Manny and Schmidt.

We'd win 50 games max!!! 1.5 runs scored per game results in to many loses....sure, kazmir, peavy, sheets, cappy, and bush would be awesome, but even if they pitch great, u still need to score!!!! and with an offense like that, u put to much pressure on the pitching...example would be dd, who lost numerous games even with fielder and weeks in the lineup, because of lack of production...weeks and fielder arent the problem, their part to our solution and future!!!

Wendy Selig-Prieb personally told Cirillo that they wanted to extend him, not trade him. Less than 24 hours later he was a Rockie

do you guys really think this team would be that bad offensively... even if it was an offense that averaged 3.5-4 RPG, it would be a playoff team.

Pitching and Defense win championships... our only hole would be at 1B.

If needed, we could still trade for Burrell or Baldelli with Vargas, Villenueva, Jackson, or some of our other minor league pitchers.

They averaged 4 runs last year, and that was with Fielder and Weeks...what do you think it would look like with graffanino, cirillo, counsel, and braun plantooning between 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and lf? I agree it would be a great rotation, but giving up on fielder and weeks this early seems absurd IMO

i guess maybe i'm a little optimistic about the ability of that lineup to produce runs.

TGJ and Graffy set a good table for...

Hart (20-25 HRs, Hall 30-40 HRs, and Jenkins 18-23 HRs)

Braun is a wild card in this lineup (10-30 HRs)

Koskie and Estrada make a solid 7 and 8 hitter.

I know Prince is going to be our key source of run production this season, but the rest of the team will be better than we were last year.

I agree with AJ Love.

So...

Trade Weeks (and Hardy if needed) for Peavy

Rotation

1. Sheets

2. Peavy

3. Capuano

4. Bush

5. Vargas

Lineup

1. TGJ - CF

2. Graffy - 2B

3. Prince - 1B

4. Hall - SS

5. Jenkins - LF

6. Hart - RF

7. Koskie - 3B

8. Estrada - C

9. Pitcher

Would the infusion of Prince coupled with the "lose" of Kazmir make this a better overall team?

Well, mainly I just think Fielder and Hardy for Kazmir is a bad trade for the Brewers.

Kazmir's small frame will be a hindrance his whole career. He's been hurt every year of his career, I believe.

I think: Peavy>>>Kazmir

And

Fielder>Weeks (although this is pretty damn close, IMO)

plus you're adding Hardy.

So, I just meant I like the first deal and dislike the second.
