Anyone headed to San Diego?

I went a couple years ago--great stadium.

The Gaslamp Quarter right next to the park has all kinds of different restaurants and bars--not sure what's up your alley but if you start researching there I'm sure you'll find something.

Balboa Park was worth a few minutes and the drive down towards Mexico on I5 and back up 75 (the crazy bridge) is kinda nice. Old Towne was not worth the time. We enjoyed driving up the coast a bit (20minutes or so) one morning and having breakfast at Pipers Cafe. A local friend sent us there and it was great. There is also some state parks on the beach in that area that we walked around.

My wife and I didn't have a lot of time to spend there outside the games themselevs and pre- and post- in the Gaslamp (our hotel was right there, too), but the time we did spend was at Balboa Park, soaking in the sun and having some beers out by the Old Globe Theatre. Really pleasant, but I'm a sucker for huge city parks.

Anyway, next time we get down there I definitely want to check the beaches out--the islands there remind me a lot of the keys along the Gulf coast where I grew up.

Sorry I don't have more for you.

Thanks for the comprehensive insight, CrewDood. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
Yours also.

CrewDood, both of your posts in this thread add nothing to the subject. I suspect that brewers19's post was an indirect attempt to point that out.

CWorley, I'm afraid I have never been to SD, but since the Yuku search is actually functional today, here are some recent-ish threads about San Diego:

Thread from 2008

Thread from March

Thread from a few days ago (also about LA)

I am pretty sure we have some posters from that area, and maybe they just haven't seen your thread yet. Have a good trip.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
