With Tim Dillard's call-up, Doug Melvin has officially assembled an all soft-tossing southpaw AAA rotation:

Narron / Gulin / Narveson / Wright / Cody

That's how they are slotted now -- we'll see if Mike Burns returns to his starting role.

After 2 busy weeks I'm able to settle in and listen to some MiLB ball again. Meadows gave a up HR (I believe) in the first, the T-Rats audio is crappy tonight, in and out.

Rivas was pitching well last time I looked in, it's about time he starts getting some love.

Narron just gave up the lead and Nashville is down 4-3. Escobar hitless and Gamel with a Hit and RBI.

No multihit games in the organization thus far tonight.

Interestingly enough, even though Gindl has 4 HR in his last 10 games, he's also only hitting .189... Rivas gives up another HR in an otherwise excellent start. Schafer now with 2 hits. Errecart, Brewer, and Miranda all have a 2B, but BC still down 0-1 in the 6th.

Arnett... cripes... an error and 2 BBs load the bases against him in the first. He nibbled too much on his firt BB, and didn't even challenge the hitter at for his second BB... he clearly pitched around the hitter.

Final: Peoria (Cubs) 2, Wisconsin 1

Wisconsin Site Game Summary

Peoria edges Wisconsin

By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

PEORIA, IL - The Peoria Chiefs used a pair of long balls to defeat the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in a pitchers' duel on Monday night.

Former Timber Rattlers pitcher Austin Bibens-Dirkx tossed a complete game for the Chiefs. Daniel Meadows scattered twelve hits over eight innings for Wisconsin, but gave up two solo homers to take the loss.

Ryan Flaherty gave the Chiefs (54-46 overall, 15-15 second half) a 1-0 lead with a one-out homer in the bottom of the first inning. In the bottom of the second, Wisconsin's defense threw out a pair of runners out at the plate to keep the deficit at one run.

That allowed Erik Komatsu to hit a two-out solo homer to right in the top of the fourth inning to tie the game.

Rebel Ridling untied the game for the Chiefs. He led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a towering flyball down the left field line that cleared the wall at the 310' mark for his twelfth homer of the season. Ridling went 4-for-4 on the night, but this hit was the biggest.

The Rattlers (47-52, 13-16) got one runner on base after the homer by Ridling. Brett Lawrie singled with one out in the ninth. But, Bibens-Dirkx got the complete game victory by getting Corey Kemp to ground into a game-ending double play.

Bibens-Dirkx struck out seven and did not walk a batter. Meadows struck out four without walking a batter in his first professional complete game.

Wisconsin has lost 10 of their last 12 games.

The Timber Rattlers continue their road trip with a series at Fort Wayne against the TinCaps. Wily Peralta (3-2, 3.55) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Fort Wayne counters with Simon Castro (6-4, 3.65). Game time is 6:05 PM CDT.

Wisconsin Box Score

An amazing one hour, 52 minute affair that included 17 base hits -- notice it was getaway night...

Final: Oklahoma City (Rangers) 6, Nashville 4

Nashville Site Game Summary:

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Nashville Sounds dropped the final game of a four-game series to the Oklahoma City RedHawks 6-4 on Monday night at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. With the win, the RedHawks secured a three-games-to-one series victory over the first-place Sounds (55-47), and won the season series 10-6.

Nashville finishes 4-8 on its longest road trip of the season, including losses in five of the last six contests.

Oklahoma City starter Kris Benson allowed three first inning runs, but held the Sounds in check for six more innings to move to 2-1.

Sounds outfielder Jason Bourgeois began the game with a leadoff single and went to third when shortstop Alcides Escobar reached base on a fielder's choice. Third baseman Mat Gamel then brought home Bourgeois on a single to right field, his first RBI since rejoining the Sounds from Milwaukee.

Escobar later scored on a Joe Koshansky groundout, with Hernan Iribarren later adding another RBI base-knock in the inning for an early 3-0 Nashville lead.

Oklahoma City tied the game with at 3-3 with four consecutive one-out singles, highlighted by Esteban German's two-run base knock that scored Casey Benjamin and Julio Borbon.

With two outs in the bottom of the fifth, Oklahoma City shortstop Joaquin Arias hit his fifth home run to left field that put RedHawks ahead at 4-3. Royce Huffman doubled to lead off the next inning and was brought home by Emerson Frostad that extended the RedHawk advantage to 5-3.

Dave Johnson came into the game in the seventh inning to relieve Sounds starter Sam Narron, and allowed a base hit and walk to the first two hitters. Justin Smoak then hit a two-out base hit to centerfield to score Arias for a 6-3 lead.

Escobar hit a single to left field and proceeded to steal second base, his 36th swipe of the year. After advancing to third on a wild pitch, Gamel hit a sacrifice fly to bring Escobar home and cut the lead to 6-4 in the eighth inning.

Warner Madrigal picked up his 12th save of the season after pitching a scoreless ninth to end the game.

Narron took the loss, allowing five runs on 11 hits while striking out four in six innings. Reliever John Axford provided a scoreless inning in relief.

The Sounds travel back to Music City tomorrow to open a four-game series against the New Orleans Zephyrs at 7:00 PM CT at historic Greer Stadium. Southpaw Lindsay Gulin (5-6, 4.50) takes the hill for Nashville against Zephyrs right-hander Clay Hensley (5-2, 4.32).

Nashville Box Score

Angel Salome isn't building any trade value while invisible -- please ask around, Adam McCalvy; take away a miserable outing on the 16th, and RHP John Axford has been excellent...

Final: Fort Myers (Twins) 1, Brevard County 0

Miracle Site:

FORT MYERS -- David Bromberg was terrific, working out of several jams, and catcher Jair Fernandez provided the only offense in a 1-0 shutout of the Brevard County Manatees at Hammond Stadium on Monday night.

Bromberg (9-1) sat down ten straight at one point but his most impressive work came in the fifth inning. A double and two infield bunt singles loaded the bases for the Manatees with no one out in a scoreless game. Bromberg proceeded to strike out Eric Farris, induce a popout to short from Lee Haydel, and strike out Steffan Wilson with a slider in the dirt to leave the bases loaded with no runs allowed.

In the bottom of the inning, Fernandez hit a line drive home run to left field, his third of the season, off Amaury Rivas (8-6).

The Manatees threatened to tie it up in the sixth with a double to left but a perfect relay from left fielder Evan Bigley to shortstop Estarlin de los Santos to Fernandez resulted in a lead-preserving out at home plate against runner Chris Errecart.

It was quite a pitchers' duel between Bromberg and Rivas. Both were dazzling under the lights as the Miracle ace scattered eight hits over six and two-thirds innings. He walked just one and struck out eight. In two starts against the Manatees this season, Bromberg has struck out 20 in 12 and two-thirds innings.

Rivas, meanwhile, limited Fort Myers to six hits in six and one-third as he walked one and struck out seven. The solo homer to Fernandez was the only blemish. Jim Henderson worked one and two-thirds in relief with no hits and two strikeouts.

Joe Testa got his first save of the season with two and one-third innings of work in relief of Bromberg, giving up one hit and fanning three.

Left-hander Tyler Robertson will take the hill for the Miracle in Tuesday night's third game of the series at 7:00 PM (6:00 Central) at Hammond Stadium.

Brevard County Box Score

Amaury Rivas with 89 K's and only 31 walks in 96.2 innings; Logan Schafer 2-for-4...

Final: DSL Dodgers 9, DSL Brewers / Orioles 7

DSL Brewers / Orioles Box Score

The Brorioles scored five in the 9th to make the final score look deceivingly respectable; LHP Jose Ramos allowed four runs in two middle relief innings; RHP Rolando Pascual pitched two hitless innings -- unfortunately he walked six and threw two wild pitches (can we cut the cord already?); SS Andres Martinez, C Jhonatan Javier, and 1B Hitaniel Arias are the names to scan offensively, Joan Abreu pinch-ran and scored...

Great night so far, huh?

Don't look for salvation from the Helena or Maryvale kids, barring big comebacks.

Looks like Huntsville rode three home runs to victory for Mike Jones and Mike McClendon, salvaging an otherwise dismal night record-wise.

Final: Huntsville 8, Montgomery (Rays) 3

Huntsville Site Game Summary

Stars Tie Season-High With Three Home Runs in Victory

By Brett Pollock / Huntsville Stars

Taylor Green smashed a home run and drove in a pair of runs in support of Mike Jones, who went six solid innings in Huntsville's rain interrupted 8-3 win Monday night in the opener of a five-game set at Riverwalk Stadium. The game was halted after the sixth inning due to some heavy rain and the anticipation of more to follow and eventually resumed after an hour and 18 minute delay. The Stars won their second straight game to improve to 14-17 in the second half and 52-48 overall, while the Biscuits suffered a franchise-record seventh loss in a row to fall to 12-19 in the second half and 45-56 overall.

Chris Nowak led off the home second inning with a single, moved to second base on a Cody Cipriano base hit and came around to score the game's first run on a Matt Fields single. Biscuits' starter Brian Baker had retired nine batters in a row before Jonathan Lucroy walked with two outs in the fourth and scored to tie the game on a double by Green, who collected the Stars' first hit of the night. Lorenzo Cain followed with a monstrous two-run home run, his second, to give the visitors a 3-1 lead. Montgomery cut the lead to one in the bottom of the inning on a two-out single by Pedro Powell that scored Nevin Ashley, who had doubled with one out.

Baker was lifted after five frames, giving up three runs on five hits, while walking two and fanning three. Eddie Morlan took over in the sixth and Green led off the inning with a long home run, his fifth of the season and first since June 21, to give the Stars a 4-2 lead. The Biscuits responded in the bottom of the inning when Jason Bowers tripled in Fields with two outs to trim the lead back a lone run. Jones, who did not return to the hill after the delay, allowed nine hits, including at least two in four different frames, walked one and struck out two to grab the win to even his record at 3-3. He has gone at least six innings in six of his 10 starts with the Stars this year and earned all of his wins on the road.

Shane Justis clubbed a two-run home run, his fifth of the season and first since June 12, off of Matthew Gorgen in the seventh inning to push the Huntsville advantage to 6-3. Drew Anderson tripled in two runs in the ninth inning to finish the scoring for the visitors, as he has now driven in a run in eight of his last ten games. Mike McClendon followed Jones and tossed three scoreless innings to record his third save of the season. He allowed three hits, walked one and fanned a pair.

The series continues Tuesday night with right-hander Brandon Kintzler taking the hill for the Stars against Biscuits' right-hander Heath Rollins. Coverage of the game begins at 6:50 PM central time and can be heard through the internet at www.huntsvillestars.com.

Huntsville Box Score

Stars 0-for-3 on the basepaths; 26-year-old Shane Justis is having the best season in the organization that no one is talking about -- on base four more times Monday, he sports a .384 OBP with some pop (an .821 OPS)...

Final: Arizona Angels 7, Arizona Brewers 2

Arizona Box Score

Five Brewer errors, two of the seven Angel runs unearned; still 18 years old (until August), 2nd-year RHP Stosh Wawrzasek couldn't escape the first inning in his first outing in three weeks -- a review of the game log shows some bad luck, and there was obviously a pitch count at play; non-drafted free agent RHP Andrew Dunn hasn't allowed a run in three brief appearances; CF Franklin Romero had the only extra-base hit among the club's eight knocks, a double...
