I can't wait for Gamel to get his groove back and start smashing the ball all over Nashville.

Gindl packs a lot of power in that little frame. I believe he is now 2nd in HR in the league. (He is also among the OPS leaders)

Omar Aguilar might need another promotion. He certainly has no problem with A+ batters.

Final: Peoria (Cubs) 12, Wisconsin 5

Wisconsin Site Game Summary

Chiefs crush Rattlers
By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

PEORIA, IL - Jovan Rosa drove in six runs for the Peoria Chiefs with a grand slam -- one of three homers hit by the Chiefs -- and added a two-run double in a 12-5 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Sunday at O'Brien Field. Peoria put the game away early as they took advantage of 10 walks given out by Timber Rattlers pitching.

Juan Sanchez tripled on the first pitch of the game. One out later, Brett Lawrie drove in Sanchez with a sacrifice fly. Wisconsin (47-51 overall, 13-15 second half) put runners on second and third with two outs, but Peoria first baseman Rebel Ridling robbed Erik Komatsu of a two-run double with a leaping grab of a liner ticketed for the right field corner.

Ridling put the Chiefs (53-46, 14-15) in front in the bottom of the first. After Rattlers starting pitcher Cody Scarpetta walked Ryan Flaherty with one out, Ridling followed with a home run to center.

Scarpetta had two outs and nobody on base in the bottom of the third inning, but he walked Ridling, gave up a single to Kyler Burke, and walked Michael Brenly to load the bases. Rosa drilled the first pitch he saw after the walk to Brenly to deep right-center for a grand slam and a 6-1 Peoria lead.

The Chiefs tacked on six more runs in the bottom of the fourth with all of the runs coming after two outs. Scarpetta walked a pair of batters in the inning and had to leave with two outs as he was nearing 100 pitches. Rigoberto Almonte entered the game and gave up a two-run double to Burke. A wild pitch let another run to score. Rosa was next and he doubled in two more runs. Junior Lake's two run homer capped the inning and made the score 12-1. Nick Tyson came out of the bullpen an got out of a bases loaded, one-out jam that Almonte left. Tyson would work 2-2/3 scoreless innings.

Erik Miller hit a two-out solo homer for the Rattlers in the top of the fifth.

Wisconsin added three runs in the eighth inning. Sanchez singled for his third hit of the game. Lawrie drove him in later in the inning with a single. Back-to-back sacrifice flies by Brock Kjeldgaard and Komatsu made the score 12-5.

Michael Marseco gave the Rattlers bullpen a much needed break in the bottom of the eighth inning. The Rattlers shortstop took over for Tyson and worked a 1-2-3 inning. Marseco became the first Timber Rattlers position player to appear on the mound since Joe White pitched two scoreless innings against the Kane County Cougars in the second game of a doubleheader on September 2, 2007.

The Rattlers went down quietly in the ninth inning and lost for the ninth time in their last eleven games.

Wisconsin concludes their three-game series with the Chiefs on Monday night at O'Brien Field. Daniel Meadows (11-2, 4.00) gets the start for the Timber Rattlers. Peoria sends former Timber Rattler Austin Bibens-Dirkx (1-1, 3.12) to the mound as their starting pitcher. Game time is 7:00 PM.

Wisconsin Box Score

That Rigoberto Almonte hype machine was short-lived and so long ago; ten walks in 7.2 innings for Cody Scarpetta in his last two outings...

Final: Brevard County 8, Fort Myers (Twins) 4

Game Summary from the Miracle's Site:

FORT MYERS -- With three homers in the first two innings it looked like a slugfest in the early going, but only one more run would cross the plate from that point forward in an 8-4 victory for the Brevard County Manatees at Hammond Stadium.

Mike Tarsi (2-1) gave up a two-run homer to the Manatees' Steffan Wilson in the first and a grand slam to Caleb Gindl in the second. After one and a half innings, it was 8-0 Brevard County until Rene Leveret launched a three-run blast to right-center in the bottom of the second. It was Leveret's third homer of the year.

Unfortunately for the hosts, Joe Benson's RBI single in the fifth inning would be the only other runs scored.

Tarsi took his first loss in the Miracle uniform as he went five innings with just three earned runs, five unearned runs, and eight hits. He walked two and struck out three.

Dan Merklinger (1-0) won his Manatee debut with five innings of work. He gave up five hits, four runs (all earned), two walks, and five strikeouts.

Matt Williams worked a scoreless three innings with three strikeouts and one hit surrendered in his return to Fort Myers after a demotion to Beloit in April. Loek van Mil (the Twins' 7'1" reliever) gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth.

Joe Benson and Jair Fernandez were 2-for-4.

Amaury Rivas will oppose David Bromberg at 7:05 PM (6:05 Central) on Monday night for the second of a four-game series.

Brevard County Box Score

It's been a while since we checked, but it's likely this squad has the best full-season record in all of minor league baseball at 58-33; RHP Brandon Rapoza was a bit overshadowed by his awesome Manatee bullpen crew mates early in the season, despite fine work of his own -- he's still doing the job; Zelous Wheeler's .343 July avaerage has his season mark up to .253...

Final: Oklahoma City (Rangers) 11, Nashville 1

Nashville Site Game Summary:

Link for Jason Bourgeois photo, text follows --

RedHawks Blast Sounds, 11-1

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Nashville Sounds fell to the Oklahoma City RedHawks, 11-1, on Sunday evening at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.

The first-place Sounds (55-46) have dropped four of their last five games on their road trip.

Oklahoma City sent ten batters to the plate in the bottom of the third inning to grab a 6-0 lead against Sounds starter Chris Cody. Jose Vallejo highlighted the frame's scoring with a two-out, bases-loaded triple.

Cody (4-6), starting on three days' rest for the Sounds, took the loss after allowing six runs on eight hits in only three innings of work.

Nick Green took over on the hill for Nashville in the fourth and gave up a pair of runs in his first frame of action, allowing RBI singles by Esteban German and Chris Davis.

The Sounds plated their lone run in the top of the fifth when Jason Bourgeois drove in Erick Almonte with an RBI single, but Oklahoma City answered with a three-spot in the bottom of the frame to increase its lead to 11-1. Shortstop Joaquin Arias (3-for-4, three RBIs) blasted a two-run homer off Green in the frame, his fourth roundtripper of the year.

Jason Bourgeois RBI Single

RedHawks starter Elizardo Ramirez (7-7) recorded the victory with a quality start, holding the Sounds to one run on seven hits over seven innings of work.

Reliever Jesus Colome made his Brewers organization debut for the Sounds and worked two scoreless innings to close out the contest.

The teams wrap up the four-game series as well as their 16-game regular-season series with a 4:05 PM finale on Monday afternoon. Left-hander Sam Narron (1-2, 5.54) will man the bump for Nashville to face Oklahoma right-hander Kris Benson (1-1, 6.19). Both hurlers square off against the clubs with whom they made their Class AAA debuts earlier in their respective careers.

Nashville Box Score

Where is Angel Salome? Back issues yet again? Something new? Part of the reason we highlighted Jonathan Lucroy's workload earlier this week; RHP Nick Green isn't exactly a prized 40-man roster holder at this point in time..

Final: Great Falls (White Sox) 5, Helena 3

Helena Box Score

RHP Ben Jeffers took the loss after a quality outing by Nick Bucci, who has spoiled us with spectacular work, making six innings, three runs seem mundane; CF Chad Stang a home run shy of the cycle -- the problem was, batting 9th, he never got a 4th at-bat; 3B Kyle Dhanani also reached three times, but the upper half of the lineup was uncharacteristically silent...

Final: Arizona Giants 6, Arizona Brewers 2

Arizona Box Score

RHP Blake Billings struck out seven over 5.1 innings, allowing four runs (three earned); no Brewer batter reached base more than once; most of the players who had been productive in Maryvale have been moved up to Helena, outside of infielder Brandon Sizemore, there's little left in offensive depth and/or pop...

Anybody know why Escobar was taken out of the game? Hopefully not an injury.

They were just trying to screw w/ our freaking internet geek minds. Whoa...does this mean that Escobar has been traded?
