If that is true, why would the Crew deal him? i.e. who will play CF?

Swisher could play CF in a pinch or Hart could play CF. Though I would not want to see either of them in CF on a regular basis but both can and could play CF and if the Brewers could get Kennedy also in the deal it would more than make up for losing Cameron.

 

Gallardo, pitching from Hardy trade, Kennedy, Parra, Bush/Suppan is a better rotation than what we have now and could have next year.

I wouldn't trade any prospects for Washburn but I wouldn't mind signing him as a free agent provided that he is a type B free agent and not type A.

If the M's don't trade him, it's because they are very confident he is going to resign with them. But there are other options in free agency for starting pitching in the #3-#4 range, and Hardy or Hart should be able to net us a #2-#3 type in a trade.

 

Give me a Guthrie in a Hardy trade and a signing of someone like Bedard (a huge injury risk I know) and we will be much more competitive next year.

Wow, a bit of a dark horse on that one. It makes sense though, since the Tigers are in the thick of playoff contention and can use another SP. I wonder who they gave up to get him?
