Is Ryan Braun injured?

Braun is having a disastrous July and is a big reason why the Brewers have been spinning their wheels. This July he's hit .217/.250/.319 which is even worse then his terrible September last year (.208/.304/.356) when he was battling his back injury. If he is having serious back issues that completely changes the brewers outlook going forward.

I was about to post something today to the effect Braun was the quietest .910 OPS hitter I can remember. He's hit only 2 homers since June 21st, 5 doubles. Certainly seems as though his power is zapped.

Its funny but everytime Braun goes into a slump I suspect that he is injured. You know Ryan will play through it so you just have to hope that it is just a slump and that he isnt hurt. If he is injured he needs to tell Melvin so the team doesnt mortgage the future in a trade when they have no chance to win anyway.

It's a valid question, but I think the "is Braun hurt" question is going to come up every time he slumps from now on. I remember the exact same question being asked in April after he started the season by hitting .222/.340/.356 during the first two weeks. Then he went on a tear and even though it turns out he actually was hurt, no one cared. I wouldn't doubt if he's dealt with his rib/back injury for the entire season, since he basically said something to that effect back in May. He's really only been abysmal over the last 11 games, but to me the more disconcerting part is the over-aggressiveness at the plate that he's shown lately. Who knows, maybe his injury has flared up more now, but I would have hoped that he would have had the sense to skip the All-Star game if that was the case so he could get a few days of rest.

Well this thread was timed perfectly. Braun has now homered for the 2nd time in 3 games. He has hit the ball bery hard this entire series

Braun has kind of been knocked up all season I believe. He never gets a day off so I wouldn't be surprised if his injury from spring training is acting up.

I think it's clear that Braun has been spending too much time on the phone with other GM's trying to get that last piece.
