Curling her hair with a hot iron completely naked. That through me off a a bit. Seems like a safety hazard.

Edit: This video is not worth watching. It took at least 30 minutes to find and the quality is terrible. If you didn't know it was EA, you would have no idea it was her.

If she seems like she is playing for the camera, maybe it is due to the fact that she works in front of a camera and just is getting a look at herself (albeit naked) as the viewing audience would. Almost like practicing a speech in front of a mirror. And typically hotel rooms are not very large from the door to the desk with the mirror. After installing wireless internet in hotels for 3 years I have been in quite a few hotels, and the layout on the rooms often has the desk close to the door.

More problems for Erin, seems she has peepers/paparazzi issues....

Edit-Looks like it was media looking for an interview...

I really don't think that everyone in the country is aware of the Erin Andrews incident, however Miss Andrews sure does. This call really makes it sound like she is full of herself. All over the news? Hardly. Michael Jackson's death was all over the news, not the Erin Andrews story.

Dispatcher: And what's your name?

Andrews: My name is Erin. My last name is Andrews. I'm all over the news right now.

Dispatcher: I'm not familiar.

Andrews: I'm the girl that was videotaped without her knowing, without her clothes on in the hotel.

Dispatcher: Really?

Wait, she called 911 because a car was parked outside? Sometimes there are cars parked on the street in front of my house, should I be calling 911 too?
Obviously, it's a little different than that. She said they were in a gated community and these guys were hanging out in front of her house. Granted, she's probably living in paranoid city these days and probably freaks out whenever anything seems out of the ordinary. At the same time, she was advised by her security to call 911 if there were any fears.

I hope nobody takes this the wrong way, because the last thing I think is that she "deserved this." Especially the hidden camera thing. That was just insanely wrong. That's a given.

However, doesn't paparazzi parking by your house kind of come with the territory of being a celebrity? It's not as though invasions of privacy are an unknown aspect of becoming famous, yet it never seems to be enough to stop people from seeking fame. I guess I just never feel that badly about the paparazzi bothering celebs because the celebs should know that it's part of the business they strive to get into.

I bet when she was first getting started at ESPN, Erin Andrews would have been stoked if some reporters stopped by her house and wanted to interview her...

If it did come with the territory, it wouldn't be a cause to call 911 in and of itself. While Ms. Andrews has developed a niche following with ESPN viewers, the viral release of this "sexy" video (I can't really call it a sextape) has removed her from the confines of the 4-letter network, and appears to be creating a demand for paparazzi-type pictures. This something new to her.

I do feel bad for her, since I have never had the sense that she went into sports journalism in order to be famous (e.g. Lisa Guerrero, and the weather girl for Fox's NFL coverage whose name eludes me as I type this). While her photogenic qualities certainly helped her get to ESPN, she hasn't looked for an opportunity to spin that fame into a job somewhere else (or even commercial spokesperson work). She enjoys her work as a sidelines reporter, and she's good at it (not that the job has a ton of qualifications, but she does provide actual information during the broadcasts). Also, given the number of interviews I've seen Erin Andrews give to people - mostly those linked to here on Brewerfan - she seems readily approachable and down-to-earth.

It can't be easy getting ready to go back on the road for college football season with this in your head.

The whole thing has gotten weird. Apparently the video was up on the net since February and Andrews has been aware of it but the video wasn't really known until ESPN's lawyers started sending out letters. She confirmed it was her pretty quickly once a buzz started about it. The site where it was originally hosted claims to have, as of yesterday, still not been contacted by law enforcement investigators or Andrew's attorneys. No one seems to be investigating the case at all and no police report has been filed. Yet Andrews or ESPN claim they won't rest till the perpetrator is caught, but their search is starting to look like OJ's search for the real killers.

If she really had no part of it I feel sorry for her, but in this day of self promotion I have to keep a little cynicism about any celebrity who's name recognigition and popularity jump as a result of unintended videos or photos. I like Andrews and beyond her looks, I think she does a good job, even great job, as a sideline reporter. She doesn't ask stupid questions, she seems to know enough about the game, and seems like she is having fun doing the interviews and joking around with the player, coaches, and even other announcers. I hope she had no part of it, it would lower my opinion of her. She has enough talent and looks to make a bigger splash than just being a sideline reporter but sometimes people just don't have the patience. There is always the fear of someone younger, prettier, and newer coming along, unfortunately the women reporters face this fear more than they should have to if they are talented at actual reporting.

I think she was trying to justify to the dispatcher why she was calling 911 about this. An ordinary citizen with no reasonable expectation of being harrassed or possibly even stalked would be seriously questioned about making the call. The explanation was kind of disjointed but I'm thinking she felt uncomfortable about having to make the call at all.

She was simply stating WHY she had a fear about the guys in front of her house. To state that, she needed to explain that she was in the news because of a naked video of her on the net that was taken without her permission.

Seriously, anyone pointing any kind of finger at Erin Andrews here needs to re-calibrate their moral compass a bit. Call it cynicism, call it what you want, she has done nothing to egg this on. If she wanted to capitalize off it she would have done so in February (or whenever) it first came out. As I said before, she still deserves our benefit of the doubt and has done nothing to indicate otherwise. Edit: I wasn't picking on you there, MJLIverock, by pointing out the word cynicism, but there have been a few people now who have indicated that they kinda think Andrews might be involved or capitalizing on this for her benefit. All I see is a victim so far. If I prove to be wrong, I'll apologize and eat crow.

How can you even assume that? She called and asked for police assistance. When asked for the address, she brought up her nudey video. It just seemed very odd to me when I first read it, and it still doesn't make any sense.

It was terrible that someone took that video of her unknowingly and beyond terrible that it ended up on the web. I don't think EA is in on this job at all, but her reaction and the way she talked about things on the phone to her operator seemed very strange to me.

If you called 911, would you give the reason why you had probable cause to think this was something weird beyond just a car parked in front of your house?

That seems to be what she did.

Does her answer to the question make sense? No, but I imagine one could be freaked out in that situation and just throw out all of the information at once.

What's next? People suggesting that Andrews knew this 911 call recording would go public? Was she hamming it up for them? I think sometimes our cynicism gets the best of us. Here is a woman whose privacy was violated. You think she might be a little skittish?

I'd think the more pertinent information I'd want to get out is the location that I want the police to show up at. That's what I think. Maybe she did say it but it was omitted from the transcript (for obvious reasons) without note. That isn't stated, though. It is just awkward. At the very least is shows how much this whole thing has shook her world.

Are the occupants of the car peering through your windows, Diskono?
No, but do we know that that these guys were really standing next to the house and peering in? "Outside my window" could mean a lot. It sounded to me like they were still in the car parked on the street. People park on the street while sitting in the car in front of my house all the time, and they've never bothered me.

Call it cynicism, call it what you want, she has done nothing to egg this on.
But then why get lawyers involved, and why draw attention to yourself by saying stuff like "hay guys i'm the naked video girl thats all over the news!!!" to a 911 operator? Nobody cared about any of this a few weeks ago, and most of the people who saw the video probably assumed it was someone who looked like her. I don't think it was "staged" (as in, she intended to have it posted on the internet) but having seen the video, I don't buy the peephole explanation one bit. If she didn't want it to be a big deal, the obvious solution is to not talk about it.

Yet Andrews or ESPN claim they won't rest till the perpetrator is caught, but their search is starting to look like OJ's search for the real killers.
Yeah, it seems to me that some ESPN PR people found out about the video and got worried, tried to be proactive and presented this peephole theory, and then realized after the fact that they only made things worse. I suspect that this story will just die down eventually.

Uh... she got lawyers involved because her privacy and rights were violated. As any self respecting person would do.

As I said earlier, it seems to me that she brought up the naked video thing as a reason for probable cause as to why she would suspect a car is suspicious.

Produce your evidence that points to her pushing this to further her fame. It hasn't been too bad here, but other sites where comments aren't monitored for ludicrous responses overwhelmingly have guys saying "oh, she staged it, it's fake, it's for publicity, she wants it, etc." Yet I have not heard one bit of evidence to point to that. I think it is a sign of misogyny in the sports world that people don't believe her. And it's proving that there are a lot of idiots out there.

It's apparently hard for some ignorant males out there to realize she's not Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian. "Oh, she must have wanted to be filmed naked, that's the only way this happens."

Right now, the evidence points overwhelmingly to her rights being violated and her being a victim. I have seen nothing to point to the contrary except idiots with the anonymity of the Web saying it.

(I may be a little more amped about this because I just found out we're having a girl... I've always been respectful of women, but man, it all takes on new meaning when you realize you're bringing a girl into this world. I didn't have a sister, so this is all new to me).

The point being: What in her character or past actions indicates that she is the type of person who would stage something like this to further her career? Don't we owe a woman who says her rights have been violated the benefit of the doubt until the evidence proves otherwise?

It seems like people are too quick to pull the misogynistic/women-as-objects/she's doing this to further her career position.

And really, you think she filmed it and it got out there accidentally? WHAT? Come on, if you're going totake the time to make a nudie tape, make a real nudie tape. Not one of you putting on makeup from 20 feet across a hotel room.

I'll come on this board and apologize to everyone who says otherwise if I'm proved wrong, but for right now, she is a woman whose rights have been violated and nothing else. We've become too cynical.
