Baltimore Trade Idea

Brewers should trade for Jeremy Guthrie and George Sherrill of the Orioles. They would get another solid arm in the pen and a promising young pitcher who has regressed a little from the previous two seasons. Looking at what the Orioles may need, I believe we can offer them the following:

3B Adam Heether- They have Mora who is aging and they will need a 3B to replace him. Heether is blocked at third base and we have Taylor Green and Mat Gamel. Heether is 27 years old and won't see playing time being in the Brewers organization.

OF Calib Gindle- They could use him as a DH or in the outfield in a few years. .380 OBP at Brevard County and has some power.

P RJ Swindle and P Carlos Villanueva

Carlos is terrible now and we should be able to trade him. Thoughts?

Guthrie is part of the O's future, I can't believe he's available. Heether has very limited value as a cheap 2B/3B utility possibility. Gindl and Swindle for Sherrill might be a workable deal, though I'm sure BAL would rather have a young player other than an OF, as they have Jones and Markasis. About a month ago, Jeffress and Swindle might have been a done deal.

Trading CV now reminds me of those who wanted to deal Parra a week or two ago. He's talented, cheap, and part of the future. He'll recover and be fine. I should mention I like Swindle as well, and would hate to give him up, as he has shown the ability to be more than a loogy...he's been going 2 innings often in Nashville, and will be an inexpensice cog for ages.
