It is big boy time these next few weeks. Prove to Melvin why if the right deal comes along we should be buyers instead of standing pat in the next two weeks.

How is Kendell our best lead off option? That .322 OBP is crazy good I guess, I don't care that he works the counts, I care that he's been grounding into double plays left and right, has a .275 SLG, and generally speaking doesn't do much positive at the plate. Good to see that Gamel is sitting on the bench as well... I guess it's too much to ask not to waste service time... I think I'm just going to go bury my head in a minor league so I don't get upset about this stuff anymore.

Nice play to end the inning, but they were probably lucky that it was such a slow runner. Braun's throw wasn't all that great, but at least Kendall was able to snag it and run over for the tag in time.

Have Haudricourt or McCalvy asked Macha why Kendall is leading off? It isn't like Kendal is only slightly worse than the next hitter. He is no question our worst hitting starter. I could see a reasonable arguement for anybody else hitting lead off actually(Counsell against RHP only).

I admit I have never been really happy with the Macha signing, but I really didn't expect much either. I thought he would be just another manager and so far we traded good lineup/bench management for good pitcher management. I don't want Macha fired or anything like that because the next guy is likely to do something else dumb also so I doubt it would make much difference.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Considering the way the bottom of the order has been hitting lately, walking both Braun and Fielder with no outs will probably yield less runs than pitching to both of them.

The no-bunting philosophy is really paying off.
Do you want the Brewers to bunt anytime they get someone on base? I see bunting when down by one, but early in game I guess I just dont think it is that advantageous. Now I know tonight is perfect night for the we need to bunt more crowd, with the double-play balls, but I have heard from many on this board that statistics show the bunt is not as effective as just letting a guy swing away.

I like the bunt when dead ground-ball prone bats (another Kendall hit, nice timing on this argument) are at the plate with the best hitters on the team waiting in the on-deck circle.
