Wheeler... wow... a 2 month long slump... is it a slump after a 2 months or something else? Brewer with his 20th error, at a premium defensive position. Gindl with 3 BBs so far, he's on a similar pace to last years BB rate while reducing his Ks, he continues to impress.

Wisconsin plays much worse defense than shows in the box score, letting 2 pop ups fall, one of which they recorded an out, the other started Watten on his poor day, it seems that if Trey doesn't have the sinker, he doesn't have enough in the arsenal to overcome it.

In Huntsville Bush just okay in his rehab start, nothing earth shattering, not much else going on early there.

Steve gets all the best guests this time of year as everyone of significance comes out to the see the newly drafted players in Helena. Today he interviews the Milwaukee Brewers Director of Baseball Operations Tom Flanagan. Tom discusses his duties, some insights on the daily work each coaching staff puts into paperwork alone, and his career path. I didn't realize that Nichols monitors the bottom 3 teams and Ash monitors AA and AAA, maybe that just slipped past me in the past.

I just wanted to say... it's Bucci time! Steve just called him the "Baby Face Assassin", not sure why, but I thought that was funny.

Wish there was a radar gun. Bucci looks like he's throwing pretty hard.

Edit: Bucci just carved up a Chukars hitter on three pitches right after he fell behind 3-1 on a hitter and then came back to strike him out.

Err, apparently after I tuned out Huntsville for Helena things got ugly, Bush's line is not pretty.

This Marimon guy for Idaho Falls has absolutely no command. He can't throw it over the plate and when he does, it's right down the middle.

Helena leads 4-0 with one out in the 2nd and the bases loaded.

Edit: He's now out of the game.

Due to Adam Sandler I simply cannot take anyone with the name of Lafferty seriously... I'm glad the Brewers didn't draft this guy even though his stats prior to this game were very nice.

If you're into offensive shows of force, it's worth it to tune into the H-Crew tonight, they just scored 6 more runs, currently 12-0

Bucci is still pretty young- he turns 19 at midnight tonight (youngest pitcher on the staff and third youngest player on the team). Happy birthday kid. Hes had two blowup starts but otherwise has been pretty good for the H-crew. One to keep an eye on?

Brownstein now playing in right field tonight. He has put up very good numbers at the plate in hits, walks, and strikeouts but not showing much pop- prospect or another Marseco?

Final: Mississippi (Braves) 6, Huntsville 2

Huntsville Site Game Summary

Braves Take First Game Back After Break

Mississippi Does It's Damage Against Big Leaguer Bush

By Brett Pollock / Huntsville Stars

Edgar Osuna spun five shutout frames and youngsters Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman each drove in a pair of runs to lead Mississippi past Huntsville 6-2 Wednesday night in the opener of a five-game set at Trustmark Park. The Braves improved to 8-13 in the second half and 39-52 overall, while the Stars slipped to 9-12 in the second half and 47-43 overall. The Braves have won the last two games over Huntsville after dropping the first four.

Freeman led off the second with a double against Brewers' right-hander Dave Bush, who was making a rehab start, and advanced to third base on a Concepcion Rodriguez infield single before Eric Campbell grounded into a double play to chase in the game's first run. Bush was recovering from a micro-tear in his right triceps muscle suffered after he was hit by a Hanley Ramirez line drive on June 4.

Bush loaded the bases in the third with two walks and a hit batter before Heyward singled into right field to deliver two runs. Vinny Rottino overran the ball, allowing Kody Kirkland to score from first base and Heyward to advance to second base, from where he scored on a Freeman single that made it a 5-0 game. Bush was lifted after three frames, allowing six hits, walking two and striking out two in his second rehab start after being placed on the disabled list June 23. Freeman's sacrifice fly in the fifth inning against Josh Wahpepah pushed the home team's lead to 6-0. Wahpepah allowed three hits, walked one and fanned three over three innings of work.

Osuna allowed three hits, walked one and struck out three to earn the win and improve to 3-2. He did not allow a runner to advance past second base and was relieved by Deunte Heath. The Stars climbed back into the game against Heath with a pair of runs in the seventh inning on a pinch-hit run-scoring single by Adam Stern and a run-scoring hit by Michael Garciaparra. South Division all-star Matt Young made an outstanding running catch in the gap in left-center field to take away extra bases from Drew Anderson and two runs from the Stars to end the inning. Tim Gustafson then tossed two scoreless innings in relief to close out the game.

The series continues Thursday night with Stars right-hander Mike Jones taking the hill against Braves' right-hander Ryne Reynoso. Coverage of the game begins at 6:50 PM central time and can be heard through the internet at www.huntsvillestars.com.

Huntsville Box Score

Less than half of Dave Bush's 40 pitches for strikes, not an encouraging outing in length or effectiveness; LHP Bobby Bramhall made his first relief appearance after 16 mostly sub-par starts and was pefect in two innings, striking out three; Jonathan Lucroy (.367 OBP, 52 BB's, 42 K's in 267 AB's -- three walks here) also teamed up with Bush to throw out the only attempted Brave basestealer; Taylor Green 0-for-4, but still hitting .389 in his last ten games...
