Uecker was talking last night about Gamel's susceptibility to the low inside breaking pitch. Until he learns to lay off of it, pitchers will keep thowing it. Sure enough, that's what got him in the 7th.

Manny has had decent success against the Cards who struggle against LHP. Kudos for throwing him today and not against the Dodgers. Might as well give him the best chance to succeed. If not, the bullpen should be reasonably well rested.

Great pitcher photos.

Hopefully Manny can get a bounce and handcuff the Cards, who apparently have had a problem providing Piniero run support.

I want to love these day games--they should be a nice distraction from work--but the Brewers have really made me hate them this year.

5 pitches all for strikes and 3 outs. No nibbling for Manny in the first. I am happy to see that but I will temper my enthusiasm until he pitches well when guys get on base because that is a weakness for him

Looks like the Cardinals' plan against a pitcher who was struggling to throw strikes in his last big league stint is to swing at the first pitch. I can't say I can complain about that.

At least Catalanatto doesn't have to follow Prince in the batting order. Batting next to Fielder as a left handed hitter probably means you get at least on at bat against the other teams LOOGY. I would split all lefties away from Prince.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

When was the last time Hardy didnt look bad? I can't remember.
The 8th inning last night was a very solid AB. Without his walk, Fielder never gets to the plate following Braun's walk.

Manny's looking pretty good out there so far. The Cards were one of the few teams he was pitching well against this year. Between Parra cruising and Piniero constantly throwing strikes, this game might be done in 90 minutes. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Who's this Rivera guy that the Brewers have catching? Did they make a trade?

All kidding aside, I would like to see Rivera have a big day so that Macha has the confidence to sit Kendall a bit more. Please, Please, Please, have a good outing Para and turn it around for the second half...or a trade http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

For those unable to watch on TV, it was noted during Brewers Live that Corey Hart's been struggling with a sore foot, which is why Cat is back in the lineup today. Macha seemed unsure if Hart would be able to go tomorrow against the Dodgers. At least Cat's done fairly well with the playing time so far, and hopefully the rest will do Corey some good.

Glad that Rivera is getting a turn, but didn't think he would catch Manny. I assumed Kendall would as Manny has struggled.

Nice to see Frank get a few AB's, too.

Yeah, but my point is that Parra struggled with Kendall as his catcher. He earned his way to the majors a few years ago (and got his no hitter) with Rivera as his catcher. I thought it was a perfect match, unlike Bush/Rivera, who never were together before (sans an occasional pairing last year).
