Dear Jeff and friends,

I will be in class in St. Louis next to my buddy who is a Cards fans. He will be bugging me throughout the class to check the score of the game on my laptop. This class is excruciatingly boring and painful on its own, please don't make it worse.

Love,

sargennm

P.S. Nice picture Jeff!

Jeff, Mat, Prince and Trevor: Your thank you notes are in the mail!

Dear Jeff and Brewers:

I have been working in a noisy and dusty construction zone the last two weeks, with at least five months left on the project.

I could really use a pleasant escape at Miller Park tonight and that requires your cooperation. Playing competitively would be a start, and for Jeff in particular, it begins with you.

I'm asking nicely. Thanks.

Love you lots,

hawing

P.S. Tip of the cap, again, to pretendastronaut for his motivational and de-motivational photo choices.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Mat Gamel lives! I do wish he'd hit more in the top half of the order, but we'll take baby steps and just be happy he's in the lineup tonight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Here's to hoping for a repeat of Wellemeyer's May 17 outing against the Brewers, when he walked 7 Brewers. I'm loving the Suppan picture. It's almost like he's saying "Relax, Brewerfan. Everything's going to be a-ok."

The Cat hitting 5? Look for Prince to either strike out, roll over on some pitches and ground out to the 2nd baseman playing in mid RF or walk. He is not going to get any pitches to hit tonight. Not sure why Hart is out as he has been hot lately.

Macha clearly taking a page from the book of LaRussa in having his worst hitter bat eighth. Or it might just be that way by accident.
Obviously a different sample size, but as of the start of this game Suppan has a higher batting average, on-base % and slugging % than Jason Kendall and the same number of HRs.

Suppan: 34 PA, .240/.321/.280. 0 GIDP

Kendall: 280 PA, .232/.320 (including 5 IBB which he did not earn, only due to batting in front of pitcher)/.278. 10 GIDP

Was thinking the same thing. Prince will walk 4 times tonight. Cam is starting to heat up a little, I'd rather see him at 5.

Todd Wellemeyer vs. RHs: .698 OPS

Todd Wellemeyer vs. LHs: 1.005 OPS

Yeah i heard that on Homer's show today on ESPN 540. Basically lefties CRUSH Wellemeyer but he can control righties. So I have no problem with Cat and Gamel in lineup today. Actually glad to see Mat get a start.

Other than Bill Hall, can you think of any Brewer player following a very good year with an absolute clunker like J.J.? I'm going to stop there so as to avoid making a reactionary statment that may or may not be true.
