The JS Sports Staff [Latest: Witrado leaves for Sporting News, replaced by Todd Rosiak]

thebruce44

I just wanted to say again how great the ASU student-run Peanuts & Cracker Jack blog has been this Spring Training. It was a great idea that's been basically fully realized thanks to the student crew maintaining the blog. This has been, without question, the best coverage of Brewers' ST that I've ever seen -- combining the good work of TH & AM with the P&CJ blog has been ideal.

Just got done with the photo tour of the White Sox ST stadium, Camelback Ranch. I love stadiums of all kinds, so I'm looking forward to the rest of their photo tour series.

This may not be the right place for this, but Tom H had to leave camp today and come back to Milwaukee for a family emergency, it must be pretty bad for Tom to leave, my thought and prayers are with him.
It has been reported that Tom has left to be with his father. Yes, we wish the Haudricourt's well.

When does this Rosiak start? Have we heard anything from him yet? Hunt has been filling in for Haudricourt. Despite giving me the feeling that he's a bit out of his element, Hunt has done better than I would have thought he was capable of.

I believe Rosiak has said he jumps in with both feet on Opening Day. I suppose there's a chance he joins the beat earlier if Marquette is knocked out early, but he's also probably due some time off, especially if he's taking on the baseball beat.

Yeah, I hope Tom comes back with good news. This is very discouraging. He can take as long as he needs though, and we'll continue to suffer through Michael Hunt's attempt to be a beat writer. I have really hated some of the stuff he's said, and his attitude towards certain things. Oh well, we'll deal with it.

Here's an example of Hunt being a tool. "Spring training, where I'm currently being held captive, happens every year." Seriously, Hunt makes it seems like it hates being there and has kinda mocked things in his blog post. Is he really the only option they had to fill-in for TH? He doesn't take the job seriously at all. I'd rather have one of those ASU students just take care of everything. Too bad MU didn't lose just so Rosiak would get down there to replace this tool. Not that I wanted them to lose, but seriously it's not the same.

Sincerely hope everything is ok for the Haudricourt family. Tom has been away for almost a week & a half now... just hope it's not bad news.

Haudricourt's father passed - I didn't see this posted anywhere else....

Unfortunately, it's not good news.

TH makes me superglad that Michael Hunt is not a Brewers beat writer. Hunt is excited to leave Arizona, and I'm excited that he's going too.
Totally agree, I think he sucks. The bloggers on there make me laugh. They have been defending him. Some of the things they say are just stupid. They were also saying that it was good that Hunt decided to just not report the Carroll trade because no one cares. Well, actual Brewer fans do care, and that is what the blog on there is for. Hunt isn't doing his job, and doesn't take it seriously. He's an idiot.

I can't get too worked up over Hunt's ST coverage. His writing style wasn't unknown, and he was an emergency option. He should've kept the 'this sucks' stuff out of the blog, but I can't say I was surprised given that it was him writing.

That said, the blog would've been better off just handing the keys off to the ASU students doing such a great job on the P&CJ blog.

Hunt hasn't missed an opportunity to bust on Greinke for the ribs, either. He even makes opportunities to throw a shot. It's almost Witradrian in nature. I'll be glad when TH is back on the job, although I hope he takes whatever time is needed to deal with the passing of his father.

I am so glad we have Brewerfan.net, those people on the jsonline are crazy, today people were fighting about if it was allright that someone posted about Tom's dad obit in the Richmond newspaper.

I read all that crap...and with the crappy day I've had, reading the JS blogs made me feel more like crap for posting it (even though many were wondering about his situation).

But, and I kid you not, I was looking for anything Tom H may have written about his situation yesterday...and I found that link on my first Google search - literally 30 seconds.

Hunt looks like Sam Kinison - no? He doesn't seem into it, but JS is no doubt under financial pressure and given that Hunt is pulling a paycheck, got sent down. The MLB coverage is really weak as well.
