Orioles still need a LF and we no longer need Lopez

aracko

But I wonder if the 2 clubs can still talk about Mench or Jenkins to Baltimore but this time for one of Baltimores pitching prospects?

I think the Brewers are on the cusp of something special right now and having players like Jenkins and Clark(to a lesser degree) on the bench will do us no good. Moving these guys for prospects is the way to go. We need to keep our farm system stocked. The Suppan signing really enforces my belief that we are going to have a difficult time with money downt the road and need a stronger minor league system to keep the momentum going.

Would Jenkins or Mench bring us Radhames Liz - Who is sure to be a future dominating force in the BP?

I don't know it the Orioles are the team but you make a real good point about the team needing to keep the minor league stocked. Jenkins would be one way to do that. On the other hand I'm not so sure we couldn't still use Lopez. He would be a good option in the pen. A team can never really have to many good arms there.

The Orioles signed Jay Payton to play LF.

TSN had a blurb that the Orioles are still in the market for 1 more power hitter after the signing of Payton. I'd give the link, but I read it in the print version.

I think we need to stop kidding ourselves that either Mench or Jenkins can land a pitching prospect with any real value. Don't think BF.netters are the only ones aware of each guy's woes against same-handed pitching. GMs, especially, are on top of that.

IMO, the ideal situation is getting another LHRP for either one, and moving both, simply to clear $$ room and roster spaces.

You're right that the Crew is beginning to embark on a special run, and that both those guys don't figure to fit in anymore. Teams, however, simply do not give up pitching prospects for anybody, just because said 'anybodys' are MLers
