God bless Mike Burns, but man, this is one of the most lopsided pitching matchups of all time.

But hey, hopefully the nerves are gone and Burns regains his normal command of the strike zone. He didn't pitch too badly last time out - just had a problem with some walks.

Normally I wouldn't feel good about a game against Santana, but the Mets' depleted lineup definitely lifts my spirits. Hopefully the Brewers can pull out something like a 4-3 win, making Santana throw a ton of pitches and forcing him to leave after 7 before pouncing on the bullpen.

I know it's Johan, but he's had a few hiccups this year and we have historically been able to score runs off him. Hopefully we can hit a few bombs and extend our 1st place lead.

Oh My God, Burns gave up a HR to an all-star, he must be horrible!

i didn't say he was horrible... he is what he is... AAAA

Just my honest opinion of him! I hope he does well because we don't have much else!

It's half an inning, relax everyone.
Problem is that you immediately dig a 2-0 hole against Santana... Not a good recipe for victory!

Of course it's not. It wouldn't be against anyone. It was mentioned earlier that this may be on of the most lopsided pitching matchups ever. It's just too early get down on the team though.

I have learned never to get down on this team! We just need to squeeze a run across soon!

I was asking my same question about the comments. The early posts were saying how lopsided the pitching matchup was but then are surprised when one of the best hitters in the game hits a home run. He is a 5th starter in the league and happens to be matched up against a stud. Santana has been hittable at times. Some just make comments sometimes like the brewers should never be down in a game.

I missed the 2nd inning, but from what I've seen in the 1st and 3rd, I love the approach by the hitters tonight. Swing early if you get a fastball. Screw pitch counts - just don't let Santana throw HIS pitches.
