Billy Mays "Infomercial King" Dead at 50

Famous pitch-man Billy Mays was found dead this morning at age 50. Fairly surprising again, as he was just on the Tonight Show last week advertising his reality show on Discovery, though he was on a plane that had a minor accident while landing in Tampa yesterday.

EDIT: I guess it's real according to his son's twitter. All these celebrities are dying too young. I think he just had a new TV series out too. RIP Billy.

That just increases my hatred of twitter. Confirming your father's death in a "tweet"? Really?

I just finished watching "Pitch Men" on Discovery this morning, flip to Fox News, and they share the breaking news that Billy Mays is dead! Weird. My condolences to the Mays' family.
I did the same thing! Maybe that guy who was trying to sell his iTie and got shot down rubbed out Billy.

Apparently he may have injured his head after a rough plane landing...very, very sad. The "remakes" of some of his informercials on youtube are quite funny if you haven't checked them out.

I feel terrible that upon reading this (yet another non sports item I learned about from Brewerfan), I immediately imagined people delivering eulogies IN A CONSTANT SHOUTING TONE.

Despite that snarky knee jerk reaction, I do consider myself an "every man's death diminishes me" type of person, and wish his survivors well.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

To be honest, of the three major deaths this week, he's the one I'll miss the most. I'm too young to know Farrah Faucet, and I was about 12 or 13 when we first discovered Jackson liked boys my age. I will miss this guy though as he was great at his niche and it was funny having him doing ESPN sideline work.

Looks like Billy died of boring old heart disease and not that bump on the head he took on that airplane.

Maybe not so boring. According to the autopsy, cocaine contributed to his death.
