2009-06-26 Giants (Cain) at Milwaukee (Gallardo) : 7:05 PM CT [Brewers win, 5-1]

Seven strong innings for Yo...you have to think he's done, though, considering how he looked like he was wearing down in that last inning and he's up around 100 pitches. Very nice to see the "old" Yo after seeing him labor through most of June.

Well, you can take see JJ Hardy get a bunt single off my bucket list.
I appreciate this post! It made me laugh and is lifting my surly mood (as are the Brewers, so far).

Did you see Benjie Molina almost get run over by the Sausages? That sure made me laugh http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif.

Yep. Through seven innings, at least, this game is just the kind of thing I needed. Now the goodness just has to last two more.

Yeah, it wouldn't have killed Macha to just go to someone else to start this inning and let Yo have a sub-100 pitch outing for a change. Seeing Yo walk the pinch hitter to lead off the inning wasn't what I wanted to see.

(fast forwarding 90 minutes)

Thanks, Yuku, for allowing us to fully enjoy this Brewers win. I guess if I have to choose between a W and the opportunity to discuss it online, I'll choose the win.

I've no idea what happened, though.

Edit: Win Twins! (now I don't mind)

Well, after tagging Matt Cain for 5 runs tonight, the rest of the series should be easy. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Definitely a much-needed win, and impressive that they were able to do it with only one home run (a solo shot, at that). Gallardo pitched one hell of a game, even though I wish Macha would've just gone with Coffey to start the 8th instead of pushing Yo's pitch count into the 110's.

Definitely makes me feel better about the prospects of a series win. The next two games should be pretty funny whatwith these starting pitchers. Even with the Giants' offense involved I get the suspicion we'll see 25-30 more runs this series!

Anyway, I like having the Brewers on local TV here, since their post-game shows actually air the FSN North interviews with the Brew Crew. Yes, folks: this is a big night for me....I finally heard Yovani Gallardo's voice!

I really hope that gets made into a .gif.

I was at the Cards-Twins game last night. It was quite enjoyable to watch the Twins do St. Louis like they did the Crew the past couple days, see the Brewers keep the Giants at Bay on the out of town scoreboard and be able to cheer on Joe Nathan as he helped the Brewers climb back into first.

You'd think opposing catchers would get the word there is a sausage race in the 6th inning. I find it funny how the sausages had to avoid the somewhat immobile Molina, while when it happened to Jason LaRue earlier this year he was the one doing all the ducking and dodging.

Maybe opposing catchers just find it kind of fun, like real-life version of Frogger.

I know it's not possible, but it's almost as if the catcher's are in on the joke, purposely going out there to disrupt the sausage race. Maybe he's got money on a horse and is making sure he wins.

Seriously, though, now that it has happened twice when will the MLBPA step in so their players don't get hurt? Will it take a catcher getting completely trampled and put on the DL with a mild-to-serious injury? That would be my guess, since MLB seems to be reactive rather than proactive more often than not.

By the way, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed last night's game. Until the 8th inning through the end when a drunk college guy was screaming all over our section (we were in row 5) to get the wave going. He was sitting way up in row 20 or higher but decided to come down into the Terrace Box seats to do his "schtick." It got old real fast, especially for those of us that wanted to watch the game, not his shirtless, drunk antics.
