BA says he thinks the game is in reach, and I guess it is, but I just feel like the Crew will tease all night but never come through in situations like that. Hope I'm wrong, but they just don't feel very clutch right now to me.

I really would've liked to see McGehee in that situation instead of Kendall...I was hoping that Kendall leading off was a one-night thing, but I guess not.

Hopefully that's not the last chance they'll get to cut into this lead, because Liriano has to be finished after that. Maybe they'll be able to do something against the Twins bullpen this series.

EDIT: Depends on how you count it as well. MLB counts LOB for each batter, whereas I would look at it total, not for each batter.
Ah, so that is what the "LOB" number by each player is on gameday. 10 actual LOB ("team LOB" on gameday) in 5 innings is quite amazing.

More and more each day, I get the sense Macha and Melvin are not signing from the same sheet of music. Just as I think Macha let Julio implode in his last outing in an attempt to get him out of here, I think sticking Kendall in the lead off spot is his way of putting pressure on Melvin to get a real lead off hitter in here. Something that frankly should have been done very soon after Weeks was lost for the year (this is of course a function of Melvin's expectations for the year. If he doesn't feel they have the pitching to contend, such a move would be foolish.).

Braun is saving up for a relatively meaningless 2-Run HR in the 9th.
...and following that two more get on and the game ends 7-5 on a strike out with the winning run at bat
That's what the folks over at NSBB would call the patented fake rally. The Cubs are pretty good at it, but the Brewers have put together quite a few of those this year, too. It wouldn't surprise me, but right now I'll be happy if they can force a save situation.
