Dumb move to sit Corey Hart, who is on a 10-game hit streak, and is one of our hottest hitters right now.

Yeah, I don't get that one either. I won't criticize Macha since maybe he knows something we don't...and at any rate, the lineup is basically the least of my concerns after how horrible our pitching has been of late.

Casey puts my no-hitter fear to rest and eliminates the shutout option to boot. Huzzah!

I'll miss the rest of the game for a niecey niece's birthday party...unless her parents happen to have it on for us.

Don't let my absence deter you from the chat room, though.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Just a couple bad pitches from Yo in that inning...he got lucky on the first one to Thames, but didn't get so lucky on the Inge AB. Still a very good start overall from him...it's just a shame that they're up against one of the hottest pitchers in the AL right now. Verlander's been filthy since that McGehee homer.

This team just makes me sad. I'm thankful they are in the NL. Yes, it's Verlander today, but the Cleveland vacation made people forget just how bad this offense has been since about the time Weeks went down. (Draw your own conclusions as to any relationship there).

Counsell with a homer off Verlander?!?!?!?!
Hey, he throws hard enough that if you can make contact on the sweet spot you have a good chance at hitting one out. How do you think Casey McGehee was able to hit one out opposite field? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

As discouraging as this series was, I can think of a few silver linings. It was still a 3-3 road trip...not bad when you look at the big picture (but a little disappointing after that sweep of Cleveland). The offense showed a little bit of fight on Saturday cutting the Detroit lead to a respectable margin. Gallardo pitched very well today considering how much he's been struggling lately. While the RISP this series were maddening, they're at least getting guys on base.

I do feel better about this upcoming Twins series than I did about the one a couple weeks ago. For whatever reason the Brewers always play poorly in the Metrodome and have a bit more success against the Twins at home. Hopefully the front office folks can figure something out during the off day tomorrow as far as what they're going to do with the rotation and Gamel.
