Link Report for Sun. 6/21 -- Can the Stars Snap Out Of It Just In Time?

Brewer Fanatic Staff
Interesting sidelight in the Arizona Brewer game -- the Giants starting pitcher was Joe Martinez, the rookie major leaguer working his way back after the skull fractures from the Mike Cameron line drive in the opening series this season.

Should be noted that RF Max Walla kept the go-ahead run off the board in the top of the 12th with his arm --

Nashville Pre-Game Audio Coaches Chat with Manager Don Money

Expects roster moves soon with AA Huntsville finishing up the first half; agrees that there are too many starting rotation candidates, even with Nick Green on the DL and Lindsay Gulin a likely temporary move back to the pen; won't be letting Chris Bosio talk him into having R.J. Swindle face righties in critical situations any time soon; discusses Angel Salome's work behind the plate (not ready until 2011?), definitely worth a listen...

I transcribed the Salome part for anyone who doesn't like to click on audio links:
Is he gonna catch in the big leagues? We don't know yet. He shows a strong arm, and he gets frustrated at times very easy, especially when he don't hit. It's part of getting to the big leagues, is handling pitchers, which he's got a lot to learn. Chris talks to him a lot between innings, between the games, and during the games, and sometimes I think they get a little frustrated with it because I think it's a little bit too much, but he's coming along. It's gonna take him time. Is he ready to go next year? Probably not. Maybe the following year? Maybe-we just never know.
