Yeah, I would've preferred to face Willis today, especially since we have two "jinxes" working against us today (the unknown rookie pitcher jinx and the 2009 national TV jinx). Hopefully they can hit this guy as well as they hit Tommy Hanson and Bush has figured out his mechanics.

Figaro's stats in AA so far this year:

5-2, 4.10 ERA, 1.074 WHIP, 7.8 K/9, 2.2 BB/9, 3.47 K/BB

While Figaro could turn in a Chris Saenzesque performance, and the Brewers are on stupid FOX again, and I have to follow from work again (which hasn't worked well the last few times it has happened on a Saturday - like last week, or that horrible doubleheader with STL in 2007)...I'm still going to hope for a better outcome than all the signs suggest.

(for some reason, the Yuku spellchecker has flagged "Saenzesque." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Hopefully the Brewers will be hungry for a win after it seemed like the game yesterday was completely out of their hands. I know they seem to usually fair poorly on national TV and against debuting starters, but it would be nice to continue the momentum they had against the Indians and get a win here.

Per JSONLINE:

BREWERS

2B Craig Counsell

DH Casey McGehee

LF Ryan Braun

1B Prince Fielder

RF Corey Hart

3B Mat Gamel

SS JJ Hardy

CF Jody Gerut

C Jason Kendall

RHP Dave Bush

Gerut in center and Kendall catching Bush... interesting... do you think, since they are down a man or two, that they want to keep Rivera available to pinch hit (since he'd be a better option than Kendall?)

Cameron's serving his one-game suspension today, so Gerut starting in center isn't a surprise. Kendall catching is kind of a surprise, like you said RKFG, but maybe they're just trying to switch things up and see how Bush fares with Kendall catching instead of Rivera. It could be the PH thing, but you don't really see that many pinch-hit appearances in AL games.

Hopefully Macha hasn't decided to give up on giving Kendall at least one day off every turn through the rotation. It honestly wouldn't be surprising though. I expect Kendall will start almost every day starting at some point in the season. That is what Macha did with Kendall in the past and seemed to indicate he would do during spring training.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

No mention of a possible Hart scratch on JSOnline yet, but it is Witrado reporting and not Haudricourt. Witrado didn't even seem confident in Kendall catching, so I guess we'll see what we get for the lineup in a little more than an hour. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

I have the TV turned to FOX, but they keep mentioning the KC-STL game as the premier game, but it's raining. Are we not gonna get the Crew today and be forced to watch the Royals-Cards?

EDIT: Never mind, it's on.

Figaro's throwing some heat...I don't know if FOX's gun is fast (reading 97 mph on that McGehee strikeout), but it's still pretty impressive. At least they were able to push a run across. Hopefully Bush can keep it going on the mound and they can add to it next inning.
