Josh Womack -- real or fake (Viral video)

bjkrautk

His swing - but for the release of the bat - looks too smooth for this to be real.? It could be the video quality, but I don't know how his hands could get to the post-release position after that release.? I want to believe it's real...but it just can't be.

Yeah, maybe I'm wrong pretnedastronaut. I think the film stock of the first one coupled with the guy who moves through the frame and the pan to crowd reaction (all ways fake viral videos try to seem "real") threw me off a little too.

Absolutely real.. I've seen him do it.

Womack played for the Rattlers back in '04. I was an intern then as a beat writer for the Mariners Scout.com website. I got to go to every game and cover them... interviewed Josh a few times. Awesome guy ... his at bat music was Christian Rock, ha! That was a good team... they had Asdrubal Cabrera, Mark Lowe, Eric O'Flaherety, Rob Johnson , Matt Tuiasasopo, Jeff Clement for a little while etc...

Anyway, he made the Midwest League All-Star team that year and a video of him doing that bat spin was played on the jumbotron when he batted and the crowd loved it... though I think they thought it was fake as well.

Watching him do it live was as crazy as watching the video... you thought he was doing magic. I'm still not sure how he did it...

I was trying that with a wiffleball bat last night and was able to do it a little bit. Yet I could only get one spin, and it was a wiffleball bat. He gets at least 2, maybe 3 spins, which is pretty awesome.
He actually only gets one spin in each of these videos, he just does it so smooth that it's hard to tell.
