Gotta wonder what the Cubs were thinking with this pick. Even the draftee was shocked he was selected!

Well, Mark Proir broke the ability of the Cubs to draft.

Using the 1400th pick of the draft (48th round) on him isn't exactly a risk. They took a player they knew would sign there instead of taking one that probably won't. Being a linebacker for Miami tells me he's got some athletic ability. He may be no more than an organizational soldier at the lower levels but he could turn into something more. Who knows? It's worth finding out. Just for reference, there were a number of football players drafted. Miami Dolphins' QB Pat White was drafted in the 48th round by the Yankees.

The Dodgers drafted Brooks Bollinger of the Badgers a few times, despite the UW not having a baseball program. It happens.

If Cook plays baseball anything like football you will be seeing a lot of swings and misses. That guy was one of the worst tacklers Ive ever seen in my life.
