the brewers look lot right now and it does not look like the team will be approving any time soon.
I approve of this team..... But for real, not a good homestand. Got the Rockies while they were hot but losing 2 of 3 is not acceptable against the White Sox at home. Let's get away from home and get things going!!

I'd like to start this post by giving a sarcastic shout-out to the loge infield season ticket holding fans who sold out to white sox nation today. Way to show up for your team. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif

Having said that, though the visiting fans were out in pretty big numbers, they weren't overly in-your-face, the way some large packs of visiting fans from Chicago tend to be. I consider myself to be sensitive (probably too sensitive) to that kind of thing, and I did not feel encroached upon today.

I also saw a guy with an official-looking White Sox jersey with CUBS SUCK embroidered on the back in place of a player name. As davego noted, hate can bond.

Since the Brewers are on the road for Father's Day, players' and employees' kids joined the starting lineup on the field instead of "major league moment" kids. That was neat. Ryan walked out to LF holding someone's infant (I didn't catch whose) - which you'd think would only add to the dreams of his female fanbase - and as soon as Corey's name was called in the starting lineup, the Hart and Catalanotto kids waiting in RF were jumping up and down excitedly (I suppose mostly the Hart kids). Then, during the national anthem, as they showed the Hart/Catalanotto kids, Corey's son began waving at the camera. Cute stuff.

Oh, yeah, the game. Obviously several of today's IGT participants are frustrated, but I didn't think this game was as dispiriting as the other losses in this homestand. The three spot Looper yielded was more the kicker for me than the run Hoffman gave up. Looper seemed to have OK innings before and after that. With Hoffman, we all knew he was unlikely to be bulletproof for an entire season.

I might consider using words like pathetic, terrible or horrible if they'd been no hit, or completely raked like the Mets or the Braves were today, or if Looper had turned in an outing more like Parra's the day before. They had a 7-2 win, a 7-1 loss and a close game today. If I have to choose between the Brewers being in a playoff eligible spot for the entire month of June or the last day of the regular season, I'll pick the latter 1000 times out of 1000.

Move on to Cleveland; and let's hope the Indians do well for tonight, and tonight only.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I was at the game as well. I would have to guess it was split about 50/50 as far as fans in the stands. More White Sox fans than I expected, but they were mostly well behaved from what I saw. Most of the razzing I heard after the game was more of the friendly variety than anything. There was one tasteless chant from some Sox fans in our section at one point, but it died pretty quick.

Really, the Brewers got some bad breaks in this one. They were hitting some lasers off Buehrle that simply kept going right at the Sox defenders. Really the Brewers should've had at least a couple more hits than they ended up with.

I was also at today's game.

-The guy in front of me was barking at people who kept their hats on for "God Bless America." Ugh.

-So, how does a team that is #18 in attendance, averaging roughly 25,000 per game manage to pack Miller Park all weekend? Whenever the Brewers play on the South Side, I expect a sizeable crowd of Brewer fans.

-I had a problem with the management in the 9th inning. Macha should have used a righty against the anemic (well, until this weekend) Gordon Beckham, and then brought in Stetter to either face Thome, or burn Thome, forcing Guillen to use Jermaine Dye with one out. Then, Stetter faces Scotty Po. I'm surprised nobody else addressed that -- Macha just used Hoffman in that spot because that's when the closer is supposed to pitch.

-I can't wait until Thursday -- our next off day. I'm shocked this team is still in first place.
