Peralta gave up a run and loaded the bases with no outs in the third inning (though he got some help from Jose Duran), before buckling down:

  • With Fernando Garcia batting, Juan Rivera steals (2) 2nd base.
  • Fernando Garcia singles on a line drive to center fielder Juan Sanchez. Juan Rivera to 3rd.

Encouraging that (1) even with a little slump he's still 15th in the league in OPS as a 20-year-old and (2) the HR was against a lefty, against whom he was hitting just .200.

Jeffress shows progress here as he didn't completely fall apart... He even came back with 3 more scoreless innings! He still needs to cut down on the walks!

Wow! 14 runs on 16 hits for Nashille. Escobar continues his hot streak along with Salome. One guy that I haven't payed a lot of attention to is Jason Bourgeois. He is quietly having a pretty good season with a .322 BA, 8 doubles, 3 triples, 17 SB, and just 18 SO in 214 AB.

Anyone listen to the broadcast and know why was Escobar pulled? It didn't happen until they came to bat in the 7th, was it just to get Garciaparra some playing time?

I wasn't listening, but getting Garciaparra playing time is probably the most likely case.

I wonder if Frederickson is finding his rhythm, no crooked number BBs since May 29th when he had 2... he's gone 2, 1, 0, 0 in his last 4 outings.
