For some reason Macha thinks about considerations besides what might be best for Matt Gamel. I know that is shocking to many here http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif.

According to Dick Stockton, Juan Nieves played in the last game at County Stadium. It would be great if he just didn't talk. And before anybody points out "Why are they paying him then?" I would pay him not to talk.

I think I dislike Dick Stockton more then any other baseball play-by-play announcer.
But who else would have the insight to be shocked that a pitcher, who spent his entire career in the NL, has only faced the White Sox twice?

Manny stunk...our hitters did nothing,,,,bullpen was very good as usual.......

We haven't been swinging the bats good other then last night so when your starter puts you in a 6-0 hole in the 2nd inning the rest of the game was pretty predictable.

I've only been following online today, so those who can watch: is this the ugliest performance of the season? Because it looks terrible on paper (or pixels, as it were).

Is there even any effort today?!?

To their credit, the bullpen has done an excellent job today and there's been some nice defensive plays. After seeing Cameron crash into the wall and looking pretty shaken up afterward, I can't really question their effort defensively today. Offensively, they've seemed resigned to their fate since the second inning. I'd still say the Twins series was an uglier performance.

Thanks. That 7th inning at the plate looked particularly lifeless, and obviously, Manny's second was horrendous.

I wonder which Brewers will show up on Sunday. Needless to say, I'd rather see Friday's team.

Edit: I know it's technically correct, but calling Scott Linebrink "the former Brewer" seems to imply more about his stint with the Brewers than is really warranted.

Shutout gone. Yay. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif

Actually, I'm surprised by Bob's statement (which I verified) that had the Brewers not scored today, it would have been only their second shutout of the year.

Given the hitting woes, you'd think it would have happened more than once.

Shades of the Hendrickson game against Minnesota, where he wasn't able to record a single out in the first inning. Now that was a brutal start.
Unfortunately, I was at that game. Today, my wife was at the game without me. At least I could drink cheaply here at home.
