T-Rats Video 6/11/2009

I took a little bit different tact this time as all of the stalker guns were directly behind me. Since I couldn't get my usual seats in row I it was easier just to film the pitchers and ask/listen about the pitches/velocity than chart pitches myself.

Adams fastball looks to be very straight, as it's not over powering he's going to have to locate it much better or do a better job keeping hitters off balance with his breaking stuff.

This will probably sound a tad crazy but I don't have to do all that much editing at all when I film, my trigger finger does most of the editing for me, I only film what I really want to see. Now when other people film, it's much more difficult and usually I'm buzzing a few seconds off of each pitch or play from the front and the back. Normally for the video I've posted up on YouTube of the T-Rats, I only have to edit when I forget to shut off the camera because I'm peaking at the stalker or watching the play in the field.

I use Pinnacle Studio 11 Plus (I haven't upgraded to 12) for all of my editing and have been for many years. When I do highlight films I get way more fancy with menus, transitions, etc.. For these videos most of the work is very quick, just dragging clips around with the mouse to get all of the pitches in a row, and so on. The only effects a video will get is if someone says something hateful, then I slide volume for that clip down to zero.

Many people get by with Windows Movie Maker, and it will do most of the same things if you have a good understanding of XML, since I don't I went a different direction, and I've been very comfortable with Pinnacle Studio, but I've been using it since version 8.

Thanks TheCrew for sharing the videos. I'm heading up to Appleton later this month to see the T-rats play the Chiefs. Meadows looks like he has some good off-speed stuff based on your video. I know Adams is a much higher draft pick, but Meadows seems as though he has a plan on the mound. Not bad for a 40+ round pick!

Thanks for the great info and for permission to use your video. I'm always looking for stuff to put on the site. The reason I ask about editing is I'd like to be able to do highlight videos of games to put on the site. Not really sure how to go about doing it though. Getting enough video to make a decent highlight video for a game might be difficult and the editing is pretty time consuming. Any advice I can get is very appreciated.

I would suggest Pinnacle then, it's much more cost effective than it used to be. It's very intuitive, there's ton of help available including tutorials, and if you're still stuck drop me a PM. I learned mostly by trial error myself.
