For "Quick Reply" fans: you can replace the Quick Reply Editor with the WYSIWYG Editor

For those who like using the Quick Reply editor, but don't like the hand formatting involved, I've been sent bookmarklet code that will allow you to replace it with the WYSIWYG editor.

This trick should work in all browsers that load the WYSIWYG editor. These would include the Mozilla browsers (including Firefox, SeaMonkey, Camino, Flock, K-Meleon, etc.), the IEs (8, 7, and newer versions of 6), and Opera. I haven't personally tested any IEs or K-Meleon.

Here's the code:
javascript:void(addEditor('body',window.gs.smileys_url,250,null,false));
If you want to test it, go to any thread page. Scroll down to the Quick Reply editor so you can see the change in action. Paste the code into your location (address) bar, and hit enter (return).

If you like it, you'll want to put it in your bookmarks. Create a new bookmark and paste the code into the location (address) field. As you'll need to load this bookmarklet every time you'll want to replace Quick Reply with the WYSIWYG editor, you might want to place place it in your toolbar.

I have some alternate code for Safari/Chrome that still needs some testing. When I'm sure it checks out, I'll post it in the Safari/Chrome WYSIWYG Editor thread.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
