I think it's based off the fact that McClung was pretty good in a starting role last season. But I wouldn't make that switch becase I think Parra would be even worse in teh pen than as a starter AND his trade value would further plummet.

Way to end it Seth! Anyone know how long that inning lasted?

51 minutes.

I also agree that I can understand why Macha wanted McClung to hit that inning, but then you have to pinch hit for Hall there.

Don't you remember? Macha is giving Hall a chance against righties still. Lol.

I am basing this (replacing Parra with McClung) off his success he had as a 5th starter last year. In addition, if Burns can provide some long relief, Manny can be relegated to loogy status... We also have Dillard, who is stretched out, and can be called up to provide some more long relief!

DFA Bill Hall? C'mon people get a grip.

Well what does he provide besides defense? I'm looking at his body off work the last two years not just one 1,2,3 wiff job. The guy is an absolute rally killer. Maybe the crew can just have him hit on holidays

That would be a bad move. He has an option, so not only are we wasting service time by having him be the designated junk thrower in the bullpen, but we're also wasting possible future development by not having him start somewhere.

I guess you weren't willing to get all sophisticated and look at his platoon split?

Manny can be relegated to loogy status...

That would be incredibly shortsighted.

Why would we just give up on Manny as a starter? We already have Stetter as our loggy, and Parra could just be sent down to Nashville, and stay as a starter. Yes, McClung is an option as a starter, but I get the sense that the Brewers decided to stretch Dillard out this year for a reason. I think he would be the one getting the call. Why try to stretch out McClung again and have Dillard take his role when Dillard is already stretched out and pitching well in Nashville?

Totally agree with you on Manny, the guy has talent and the team needs to stick with him. DM said that he thinks it would be worse for Manny's confidence to be sent down, makes sense. I can even understand sticking with Suppan, but watching Bill Hall out there is getting really, really difficult.

I agree that Parra still needs to get a few more starts to prove himself. If it doesn't work, then Melvin might not have a choice but to send him down. Bill Hall just needs to be benched straight up for Gamel. Gamel can hit lefties just as good as righties, so I say we give him a chance. On another note, that was a great catch by Cam, and Seth had a really nice outing.

Anyone catch the commercial for the Marlins Bobblehead give away on their feed? I love that it's a guy who got in line really early and still wasn't one of the first 10,000 fans at the game so he was bummed out that he didn't get a bobblehead. I wonder if the total fans for 2 games would add up to 10,000.
