August 14-16 Special '82 ticket prices; Marshall Edwards!

?SUDS SERIES? REMATCH TO FEATURE 1982 REUNION AND UNIQUE WISCONSIN-ONLY TICKET OFFER

Pre-Game Anniversary Ceremony set for Tuesday, August 14

MILWAUKEE? With the Milwaukee Brewers Silver Anniversary of the 1982 ALCS Champions fast approaching, the organization today teamed up with the Miller Brewing Company on a unique ticket offer, but it comes with a catch: The deal will be valid only for residents of Wisconsin.

In 1982, fans could watch the Brewers at County Stadium for $8.00. Thanks to the Miller Brewing Company, in 2007 it will be possible to watch a rematch of the ?82 World Series at Miller Park for that same price. For any of the three games of that series, scheduled for August 14-16, Terrace Reserved tickets will be available for only $8.00, a $10.00 savings off the regular price. The offer will be valid for those who live in Wisconsin only?residents of Missouri need not apply.

Beginning at 9 am today, fans will be able to access the offer online at brewers.com/goodcall. Users will be required to input their zip code to access the offer. Fans may also purchase by phone at 414-902-4000 and at the Brewers ticket office at Miller Park by referencing ?Good Call? when they place the order. Residency requirements will be verified at the time of purchase.

?We want to ensure that Miller Park will be filled with Brewers fans, and Miller Brewing Company has stepped up the effort to help make this happen,? said Brewers Executive Vice President ? Business Operations Rick Schlesinger. ?We expect this series to bring back great memories, and we also know that it will be a key match up as we begin the stretch run in this year?s division race.?

As part of the series, the Brewers on Tuesday, August 14 will host a Silver Anniversary Reunion to welcome back team members and front office executives from the 1982 Brewers American League Championship team. The festivities will culminate with an on-field ceremony at Miller Park prior to the start of that Tuesday game. In addition, returning alumni will be available for a one-hour autograph session beginning at 5:30 pm.

SUDS SERIES, Continued

Former Brewers players and coaches will be joined by more than 30 front office personnel from the 1982 season in an on-field, pre-game ceremony to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the franchise?s only World Series appearance to date. Fan favorites such as Robin Yount, Paul Molitor and Jim Gantner are scheduled to be in attendance alongside their former teammates during this special ceremony. Also expected to participate in the ceremony is Baseball Commissioner Allan H. Selig, who was the club owner during the 1982 pennant-winning season. Audrey Kuenn and Pat Dalton, widows of Manager Harvey Kuenn and General Manager Harry Dalton, respectively, will also be recognized.

For the Reunion game, the Brewers and Cardinals will wear authentic reproductions of the uniforms from 1982. A list of the alumni scheduled to be on hand for the ceremony is included below.

Beginning on Monday, August 13, members from the A.L. Championship team will participate in the 1982 Celebration Golf Outing at North Shore Country Club in Mequon, Wis., where fans will have an opportunity to enjoy a golf experience with members of the ?82 Championship team and additional celebrities.

The 18-hole alumni golf tournament will begin at noon and teams will be comprised of a five-person group with a Brewers celebrity golfer to be paired with each foursome. The golf outing will consist of a scramble format with team prizes awarded to the first place finishers. A cocktail reception and silent auction will also be featured and a dinner and speaking program will take place later that evening.

All participants will receive a gift and tournament souvenir, on-course beverages and an opportunity to win prizes in a variety of hole events. There are just four foursomes remaining (the event is not open to spectators). All tournament slots must be purchased in foursomes - no individual reservations will be accepted. Interested parties should contact Patty Harsch at 414-902-4585 or email patty.harsh@brewers.com.

Sounds like a great deal! .... however... doesn't $8.00 for a ticket in 1982 seem a bit "high".

I remember sitting in the Mezzanine (spelling) in around 91-92ish for around $14 (best seat in the house at that time)

Maybe $8 was the price of an 'average ticket' in 1982? Sorry to nitpick, but that seemed kinda odd.

Especially considering a bleacher ticket for the ALCS in 1982 was only $5...

That's a municipal stadium ticket. Box at County was $8 at one point with lower grand at $6 but they went to $10 and $8 at some point, don't know when. Yeah, we did worry about $2 back then.

I'm guessing that your credit card billing address will be verified when you attempt to checkout.

Thanks to SeriesFinale for noting in the locked thread locked thread that the long lost Marshall Edwards will be in attendance.

His name is in the article Jamie posted above. I'm surprised nobody noticed.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
