With all of the platooning, and split differentials nowadays, how long will be until teams play tricks with their starting pitchers? For example, what if the Marlins had Miller throw one pitch, and then bring in a rested right handed starter. The Brewers would then have Hart and Hall at the top versus a righty. That would be ugly.

It was comical reading the JSonline Brewers blog comments when TH posted the lineup. Guys just ripping Macha for having Hall batting 2nd. It's against a LHP, I'm fine with it.
I really don't like it, because odds are that 40% of his at-bats will be against a righty. If Macha is willing to pinch hit for him in the 6th, or 7th, I would not feel so bad about it.

The Hall bashing has gone way too far IMO. Yes, Gamel is probably a better option at the plate against RHP, but Hall is still the better option vs. LHP. He's also much better in the field and should probably be in late in most games as a defensive sub. In this manner, I think Macha has been using him properly. Fans are underestimating how our improved defense over the last two years has helped our pitching staff...look at the huge play he made on Saturday. I think Mat will become a solid regular starter, but at this point he is still a huge question mark in the field.

Sorry, had to vent. Go Brewers.

Let's see if we can get more posts in this thread than the number of people actually watching this game in person...I think three pages or so should do it.

Hopefully Suppan can take advantage of a pitcher's park and get us through 6 innings unscathed.

BA on Cameron being held at 3rd on McGehee's hit: "Brad Fischer sensing a big inning here."

Yes, with Kendall and Suppan coming up, I always sense that (doesn't mean it was a bad decision to hold Cameron).

I stand corrected!
