Ha --- he can rake too! That's an intriguing player... don't think I've run into his name before around the BF.net discussions, though.

 

Hobgood is also hitting .479/20/53 as a senior, making him somewhat more appealing to NL clubs

I just took Chad James for the Brewers in the projectprospect.com mock draft.

 

This is my second year with the Brewers. Here's who I took last year:

-Tanner Scheppers-RHP

-Zach Collier-OF

-Kyle Lobstein-LHP

-Tyson Ross-RHP

-Trey Haley-RHP

-Adrian Nieto-C

-Charles Blackmon-OF

He's definitely a player worth looking at, but not in the first round. If he were available in the 2nd round I would have no problem with the Brewers taking him there. He has a plus fastball and a solid build, but has control issues. At this point he only has the one pitch though. His curvevall, if contained is a possible plus pitch as well. There will be pitchers available at #26 that would be better picks than this kid. Not to say he isnt a worthwhile pursuit, but not in round 1.
