Or so says a Russian scientist regarding the Siberian meteorite explosion in 1908. Interesting, but quite a leap from the proof that he has.

The meteor must have run the 4-way stop between Pumapunku and the Egyptian Pyramids and slammed into an inattentive UFO driver who was busy probing a Nebraska farmer.

In all seriousness, it mentioned something about had the meteor actually hit the earth instead of exploding where it did, humans would have been rendered extinct. I thought I heard that the meteor exploded at just about the worst point it could have exploded. Does anyone know which one of those is more accurate?

I don't know about the location, but it had the estimated power of a very large nuclear bomb. I've never read that it had the power to bring human extinction - just wipe out Moscow if it had hit there.

 

Edit: went back and read a book chapter I have on it, and I was confusing it with a generic example.
