About the only thing else that can go wrong in this series is for Hoffman to finally blow one in the end. All I can think of is the two years in a row where Turnbow (aided and abetted by Ned bringing him in with guys already on the the crowd going nuts) was having decent seasons and was never the same after that.

I may just cut out again tonight and play Mario Cart with my kid.

yeah tell me about it... how about showing those clips during times when the game isn't in progress?

EDIT: I guess maybe I shouldn't be complaining, because at least I got to watch that clip of Rock in HD....

Just keep telling yourselves:

Winning roadtrip. Winning roadtrip. Winning roadtrip.

Give me a winning roadtrip, no matter the circumstances, and I'll take it every time.

I'm just waiting for the team that calls up three new pitchers who have never faced the Brewers before to pitch a series against them. It seems we always struggle against this type of pitcher, no matter how blase their stuff appears to be.

Well, if Mauer hits that pitch out, you know things aren't going your way and the Twins are swinging the bats ridiculously well. Not much you can do about that, and at least it seems like the rest of the NL always stinks against the AL, no matter how crappy the AL teams are.

The Twins are better than their record, too...Mauer just got back at the start of the month and they've been playing better since he got back. Their record looks bad because of that string of three or four straight walk-off losses to the Yankees, who were in the middle of like a 9 game win streak. I fully expect the Twins to end up winning their division.

If they can't beat Scott Baker tomorrow, they might as well shut down for the season. He could make a Double-A team look like Murderer's Row right now.

Nice one chief. Way to take it to the extreme. And your condescension is appreciated.

Not one aspect of their play right now says they're gonna win a game in this series. If you have something, I'd love to hear it.

We are 10-8 with 7.11 R/G against pitchers making their debut since we moved to the NL. Tonight not included of course.

This shows you how little I pay attention. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I still submit that this guy's stuff ain't that good. He'll be middle relief or Triple A within a month. He needs to develop his secondary pitches before he can be a starter.

Sorry, I forgot the smilie. I was about 47% sarcastic. Nothing is worth shutting the season down at this point.

I'm seriously going to be peeved if we can't do some damage against Baker, because he's been getting lit up like a Christmas tree for most of the season so far. That said, it's still a winning roadtrip, and I don't care what you say, that's a good thing. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

In other news, Bill Hall still can't hit righties. Oh wait, that's not news.

I will probably get raked for saying this, but I give Macha credit for what he's doing. One of the things a new manager has to do is make his own evaluations on guys. Hall has gotten his shot, and I'm pretty sure we're getting close to the time where he has to look at platooning someone who can hit right-handed pitching.

Not to restart the argument from last season, but as currently situated this Brewer lineup is not even close to being as good as teh Twins lineup. When five of your guys are Hall against RHP, Counsell, Kendall, McGehee, and Gamel (who stil has less than 20 ML ABs), it's hard to argue that your lineup is better than just about anybody. Add in the fact that Gerut is adjusting to new surroundings and the Twins were due to overcome some bad luck they had in the last road trip, these results aren't all that surprising.

Jeez...you can't help but wonder if the Twins can get any luckier at this point. Crede got eaten up on that play and they still find a way to get that out. At least the shutout's gone thanks to Prince.
